Introduction
Hi, and welcome to Emotional Eating." This book will help people like you to get lean, healthy, and fit.
The common missing link for people who try to lose weight is they miss the psychological aspect of it. When you miss the mental element of losing weight, two things happen - you are less likely to have that sustainable weight loss, which many people strive for, and you end up in a cycle of yo-yo dieting, which is, prevalent in today's world.
This program is going to give you everything you need to help you get lean, healthy, and fit.
Chapter 1 - Why a Book on Emotional Eating
Why a Book on Emotional Eating
Everyone knows that weight loss is fundamentally about calories in, calories out. However, many know what to do but find they're not doing it. Also, people lose weight, but the common problem is that they can't seem to keep that weight off.
In a recent interview, one of the contestants on The Biggest Loser said, "There's a reason why they don't do a reunion show." That is because a large number of them regained the weight after the show was over.
Something is getting in the way. A large part of that is emotional eating. The psychology around an individual's food and identity doesn't change. It doesn't change over time. Therefore, one of the fundamental things in this emotional eating course is that when you lose weight, if you want it to be sustainable - a psychological shift has to occur around your attitude about food and identity.
Emotional eating is a massive factor that is missing in people's pursuit of losing weight and keeping it off.
What to Expect from This Book
What can you expect from this book? You can view this course from three perspectives - education, imagination, and action.
Within the education section, we're going to look at what emotional eating is and why people continually fall into the trap that leads to yo-yo dieting and also the psychological thinking of, "I failed, I can't do this, it's never going to happen for me."
Why does that happen? What are the frames that set those up?
The next section is the imagination. Here we're going to enlighten you on how you see your experiences from different perspectives. A significant pattern of behavior exhibited by people who lose weight and keep it off is that they've changed their thinking. They no longer think the way they previously did about certain things. That tends to stem from the actions that they took, perhaps sometimes the setbacks that they've had, and what priorities they have in their lives.
The final part is exercising. During this course, youll learn some exercises that you can do; Not physical exercises - mental activities that you can use to enable your mind to think a different way and begin to come up with ideas that you can implement into your life.
This gives you an idea of the frame in which you should view this course. Please, avoid being a passive observer where you read it and maybe say, "Oh, that's okay for some people, but not me." See this from the perspective that change can occur; see this from the perspective that after you watch this course, you will start to get new thoughts, new ideas about how you can change your life. Emotional eating can be a thing of the past, and you can move forward and start to think in a new way, make new decisions around diet, physical exercise, and your health in general.
This book is not about eating disorders, things like anorexia, bulimia, and general eating disorders as a whole.
These things cannot be treated via a book. If you feel that you have or you are developing these conditions - you need to seek professional help from your local GP or doctor. We will not discuss these areas within this course, because this is not the course for those types of areas. This course is for the field of emotional eating that fits within the context of yo-yo dieting. This is an excellent reason for yo-yo dieting, and our goal is to have you deal with this area so you can put emotional eating in the past and move forward.
Chapter 2 - How to Lose and Gain Weight
How to Lose and Gain Weight
Before we examine the area of emotional eating, we have to look at the fundamentals of how to lose weight and what that involves and how that leads into the field of emotional eating. We'll go into the different types of food groups, how to lose weight effectively, and look at some of the common myths that surround the subject of eating.
Why Your Body Needs Food
The difference between giving up the bad habit of eating poorly and other bad habits such as smoking is that when you try to give up smoking - you don't need to smoke. There is not a biological need to smoke. However, the challenge that can come with losing weight is that you still have to eat.
