T he most impo rtan t position in footba ll is quar terb ack. A quarte rback s j ob is to di rect a team s oense down th e eld to score points. Th ey run the oe nse and are almost always the r st person to t ouch the fo otball. Q uart erbacks are very smart. So me quart erbacks ca ll the plays a team runs on oense. They can change plays based on what the other team s defense is do ing to su it dierent situations in the game.
T he quart erback thro ws the fo otball to wide rece ivers, running bac ks, and ti ght ends. Qu arterb acks must m ake plays while av oiding the other team s defense, which wan ts to tackle them or make them lose the fo otball.

T he oensive li ne is made of the biggest playe rs on the team. T heir job is t o kee p the other te ams defense fr om tackling pl ayers on th eir team with the foo tball. Of ten they will sta y near or beh ind the li ne of scri mmage. T hats the line on the eld where al l oensive plays start . T here are ve diere nt oensive l ine positi ons. The center plays t he middle of the oensive line. C enters snap the footbal l to a qua rte rback to s tart a play . The left a nd right guards play on each si de of the ce nter. The left a nd right tackles play on the ends o f the oensive line.
