FOREWORD
D on Jeffriess Hidden History may be one of the most important books of our time. Jeffries has the audacity to provide an alternate narrative for the most important events in our nations recent history. Its a narrative the mainstream media suppresses and the federal government seeks to deny.
Whether it is the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the murders of Dr. Martin Luther King and Senator Robert Kennedy, the Vietnam War, Watergate, Iran-Contra, the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, the Oklahoma City bombing, the downing of TWA Flight 800, the Clinton scandals or facts about Barrack Obama, Don Jeffries provides a taut, compelling case for a new view of our historyone that is both breathtaking and thought-provoking.
When the mainstream media calls journalists like Don Jeffries (and yours truly) conspiracy theorists they dont mean it as a compliment. Put aside the labels. Don Jeffriess work stands on its own. He presents, as Sgt. Joe Friday used to say on the popular TV show Dragnet , just the facts. Indeed, Jeffriess work is meticulously researched and sourced, not to mention that in all cases his presentation is more logical than the lies served up by the government and its Greek chorus, the media.
Perhaps it is because Hidden History spans such a broad swath of our recent history that the book is hard to pigeonhole and has yet to receive the attention it so richly deserves. In the 1960s, suppressing the truth about historical events was much easier. There were only three TV networks and a handful of national newspapers. If it wasnt reported there it simply did not happen. Now, with the advent of the internet and the proliferation of talk radio and the growth of daring publishers like Skyhorse, hiding the truth is no longer so easy for the powers that be. In 1963 we only had the Zapruder film. Today, JFKs murder would be recorded by dozens of cell phone cameras.
I myself spent forty years in the corroded inner workings of the two-party system. I consider myself a political insider, having worked on a senior level in nine American presidential campaigns, from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump, and been a top aide in both the US House and Senate. Ive seen the sausage being made. Yet I learned much I did not know in Hidden History . Jeffries connects the dots in a way that makes you sit bolt upright and say AHA. Thus is the incandescence of Don Jeffriess work.
Don Jeffries comes at these events with no ideological agenda. He regards the events of history with a clear eye. He is driven only by the facts and only goes where the facts lead. The sheer size of the events he retells from an honest, fact-based point of view is stunning in itself. There is so much to digest in Hidden History that, if you are like me, you will have trouble putting it down until you have consumed it.
There are many fine works on the Kennedy assassination, the murder of MLK, Watergate, the Clinton impeachment, and the like, but if you seek one book to connect these events in the flow of history, to see how they are related, you have it in your hands in Hidden History. Read it and pass it on to your children. Its time for the truth, and Don Jeffries gives us the unvarnished version.

INTRODUCTION
Conspiracy
1. An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.
2. An agreement between two or more persons to commit a crime or accomplish a legal purpose through illegal action.
3. A joining or acting together, as if by sinister design.
A braham Lincolns secretary of state, William Seward, was notorious for having a bell on his desk, which he claimed he could ring to have any American citizen arrested. Historians have never provided an accurate estimate for the number of Americans the Lincoln administration incarcerated, but they generally believe it to have been at least fourteen thousand. Lincoln suspended the writ of habeas corpus, permitting those who disagreed with his wartime policies to be thrown into makeshift prisons without reason or explanation. However, Lincolns undeniable curtailment of civil liberties hasnt kept the court historians, as renegade scholar Harry Elmer Barnes referred to them, from ranking him as our greatest president.
Another president highly rated and esteemed by establishment historians is Franklin D. Roosevelt. Even some mainstream scholars now acknowledge that FDR knew about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in advance. Roosevelts famous comment In politics, nothing happens by accident. If it happens, you can bet it was planned that way is a strong endorsement of the conspiratorial view of history.
We stand today on the brink of economic destruction. The housing market remains stagnant. Unemployment is obviously far higher than the officially reported figures of 6 to 7 percent, which factor in only those filing for unemployment benefits. As I was completing this book, there were alarming reports disseminated by the media that a hundred million Americans of working age were without jobs. This amounts to a staggering true unemployment rate of 36.3 percent. While some of those are willfully unemployed, such as stay-at-home parents, retirees, and high school students, there is no question that the real rate must still be at least somewhere in the 25-percent range. Student loan debt is quickly surpassing credit card debt in volume. The cost of living continues to surge, while the vast majority of American workers receive little or no yearly wage increase. Our industry has practically left our shores, leaving us incapable of manufacturing anything of substance. Although the US population increased by 10 percent during the first decade of the twenty-first century, 5,500,000 manufacturing jobs were lost during the same time period. The sad reality is America doesnt make much of anything anymore. The income disparity has grown to such an extent that the richest four hundred citizens presently possess more aggregate wealth than the bottom percent of all Americans combined. If present trends continue, the United States is rapidly on the way to Third World nation status.
