Hashbrowns Casserole
Ingredients
- 2 lbs frozen hash browns
- 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 (10 1/4 ounce) cans cream of chicken soup
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1/2 cup onion, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Grease with cooking spray, an 11 x 14 baking dish and set the oven to 350 F to preheat.
- Mix all the Ingredients together, add to the baking dish and bake until brown on top or for 45 minutes.
Variation: - You can add cream of mushroom soup as well and it will taste equally good without butter. Fat free sour cream and browned bulk sausage will be nice additions.
3 Meat Breakfast Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 prebaked refrigerated 12-inch pizza crust, at room temperature
- 1 (2 1/2 ounce) packages country gravy mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup chopped sausage links, cooked
- 1 cup chopped ham, cooked
- 1 cup bacon bits, cooked
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons margarine
- 8 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
- Add water and milk to a saucepan and set an oven to preheat at 400F.Whisk the gravy mix to bring to a boil and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until it becomes thick.
- Beat eggs with milk. Take a large skillet to melt margarine and add the beaten eggs; scramble it into small chunks.
- Place the pizza crust on a cookie sheet or stone. Spread the gravy on the pizza, add meat on the gravy layer and top it with the scrambled eggs. Add salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on top and bake for 10-15 minutes at 400F or until the cheese starts to melt and bubble. Take out of the oven and serve hot after cutting into cones.
Variation: - You can add green onions to the meat mixture. They taste even better.
Poor Man's Breakfast
Ingredients :-
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided (or to taste. We love lots.)
- 2 slices bread, with a hole made in the middle to fit an egg yolk
- 2 large eggs
- salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
Directions:-
- Melt half of the butter in a large frying pan, over medium heat. Arrange the slices of bread into the frying pan.
- Crack an egg at the centre of the pan, making a well. Sprinkle salt and pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the rest of the butter, and flip over the bread with the egg at the centre in a way that the yolk does not break. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Variation: - It is a perfect breakfast to be served with berry smoothed and fried turkey bacon.
Healthy Breakfast Bowl
Ingredients
- 1 apple, diced
- 150 g low-fat vanilla yogurt ( 5 oz)
- 1/2-1 teaspoon ground flax seeds
Directions
- Add all the Ingredients together one after the other in a bowl.
- Mix and eat.
Variation: You can use red apples and lactose free vanilla yogurt.
Microwave Poached Egg on Toast
Ingredients
- 1 slice bread, toasted
- 1 large egg
- butter, to taste
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions
- Butter a toast and flatten it with the back of a fork to make the middle of the toast a little well.
- Crack an egg into this well of the toast carefully, so that it does not spill.
Prick the yolk quickly and bake the toast in the microwave for about 1 minute on 60-70% power or until the egg is cooked.
Homemade Breakfast Sausage
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sage
- 1 3/4 teaspoons thyme leaves
- 3/4 teaspoon savory
- 1 teaspoon fennel
- 1/4 teaspoon dried mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon clove
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
Directions
- Add all the spices in a bowl and mix them well.
- Spread the spice mix over the meat without mashing the meat too much, to make sure that the sausage is not too tight.
