With 2 strands of CC and larger needles, CO 6 (8, 10) stitches to work straight.
Shape Heel
Row 1: K1, kfb, k to last 2 stitches, kfb, k18 (10, 12) stitches.
Row 2: Knit. Repeat the above 2 rows twice more12 (14, 16) stitches.
Knit 16 (22, 30) rows.
Shape Ball of Foot
Row 1: K1, kfb, k to last 2 stitches, kfb, k114 (16, 18) stitches. Knit 5 rows. Repeat the above 6 rows twice more18 (20, 22) stitches. Knit 0 (6, 10) rows.
Shape Toe
Row 1: K1, k2tog, k to last 3 stitches, ssk, k116 (18, 20) stitches.

SIDES
Make a separate bobbin or small ball of about 7 yards of MC, then with 2 strands of MC and larger needle, pick up and knit 16 (20, 24) stitches down the right edge of sole, beginning at the middle of the widest point.
With a second needle, pick up and knit 6 (8, 10) stitches across heel. With a third needle, pick up and knit 16 (20, 24) stitches up the left side of sole, ending opposite the point at which you began (A). AAfter working the sole in the contrasting color, pick up stitches around the sides and bottom using the main color to form the sides. Distribute stitches more evenly on your needles to work comfortably back and forth. Using a fourth needle, work 5 rows St st, beginning with a purl row. Next row: [K1, p1] to end. BO as est.
