Introduction
Burgers are a get together classic family dinners, barbecues you name it, but they are also perfect for a night in or a quick meal when needed not to mention theyre a hit with kids! The patties can be frozen for months, you pop one on the stove and youre good to go! If you plan on freezing your patties ahead of time, simply wrap the individual patties in parchment paper and put in a freezer safe bag.
You can customize them however you like, your favourite meat, toppings or buns. In this book I share my favourite burger recipes, but they are completely customizable to your liking. You can follow these recipes step by step or you can use this book as a guide to open your creative burger flow!
Classic Beef Burger
This burger is perfect for those of us who just want something simple. Its also great if you dont have a lot of topping options available simple to make but just as delicious as any other.
Serving size: 8 - 10
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
Beef Patties:
- 3 pounds ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 3 tablespoons of Barbeque sauce (optional)
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Burger Assembly:
- 8 10 Burger buns
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Cheddar cheese
- 1 large onion, sliced into rings
- Condiments: ketchup, mayonnaise etc.
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine all of the burger patty ingredients (except oil).
2. Using your hands, form meat into sizeable burger patties.
3. Heat vegetable oil in a shallow skillet.
4. Cook patties over medium-high heat for 4 5 minutes on each side.
5. Assemble burgers to your liking add toppings and condiments.
Chicken Burgers
Chicken is a great option for burgers too it is easily accessible, holds moisture and soaks up flavour very well. This chicken burger is made similarly to the classic beef burger, we just swap ground beef for chicken.
Serving size:
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
Patties:
- 2 pounds of ground dark-meat chicken
- 2 teaspoons of dried Italian seasoning
- 1 egg
- - 1 cup of Seasoned breadcrumbs
- cup of vegetable oil
- teaspoon of salt
- teaspoon of black pepper
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.
2. Using your hands, shape mixture into patties and set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg with 1 tablespoon of water. Add breadcrumbs onto a rimmed plate.
4. Dip chicken burger patties into the egg mixture and then press each side into the seasoned breadcrumbs.
5. In a skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil and cook chicken patties on each side for 3 5 minutes, until cooked through.
6. Assemble burgers to your liking with desired bun and toppings.
Veggie Stuffed Beef Burgers
If youre trying to figure out how you can sneak more veggies in your kids diet, then this is a great option. Hiding veggies INSIDE a beef patty is not only inconspicuous, its also very delicious!
Serving size: 6 - 8
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
Beef Patties:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 medium zucchinis, cut into chunks
- 1 large carrot, cut into chunks
- 1 cup of parsley
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Instructions:
1. In a blender/ food processor, add carrots, onions and zucchinis. Blend until partially smooth. Add water is necessary
2. Combine vegetables and all other patty ingredients (except vegetable oil) in a bowl.
3. Using hands, form into burger patties.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a shallow skillet over medium-high heat and cook burger patties for 4 5 minutes on each side.
5. Assemble burgers to your liking.
Barbecue Beef Burgers
This recipe ensures you have a flavour packed burger patty that stays moist. Its best to prepare these right before you are about to cook them. The patties are packed with seasoning and barbecue sauce which makes it oh so delicious!
Serving size: 6 - 8
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
Burger Patties:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 stalks of scallion, finely chopped
- teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon meat seasoning
- teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 3 5 tablespoons of Barbeque sauce
- 2 3 tablespoons of oil
Burger Additions:
- Hamburger buns, split and toasted
- Additional BBQ Sauce (optional)
- Grilled pineapple (optional)
- Slices of Bacon (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine all of the burger patty ingredients, except oil.
2. Using hands, shape meat into burger patties.
