Introduction
Bread is one of the world's oldest foods, yet it still has so much to offer. There are many different types of bread to try, from chewy and dense artisan loaves to light-as-air white sandwich bread.
However, the process of making bread has remained mostly unchanged over the past century. On the rare occasion that bread has been truly revolutionized, it has usually been by new machines like today's bread machines.
These machines are innovative and ingenious, bringing to the table fresh ideas and ingenious ways to help you make delicious loaves of your own.
This cookbook is designed to help you get the most out of your bread machine. The recipes are simple and easy to follow yet delicious enough to please even the most discerning palates.
The recipes in this cookbook have been specifically designed to work with your bread machine. The instructions are clear and easy to understand.
Happy baking!
1. No-Knead Bread
This is a type of bread where no kneading is involved. But instead, a long fermentation time is used. There is very little or no yeast used in making this savory bread.
Serving size: 12
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 egg white, beaten
- 1 tbsp. cornmeal
- 2/3 water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. yeast
- 1 tsp. salt
Instructions:
Into the bread machine pan, dump all the ingredients apart from the egg white and cornmeal.
Select the cycle on your bread machine or set the cycle on dough which kneads the dough but does not bake it.
Your bread machine will beep once the dough has risen. Remove the dough from the bread machine pan and then plop it on a lightly floured surface.
Lightly knead for at least 1 minute and punch on the dough to remove the air bubbles. Dont roll the dough into an oblong shape but knead. On a jelly roll pan or a cookie sheet, sprinkle the cornmeal.
Lift your baguette gently, transfer it to the pan, and then rearrange it to make a relatively straight loaf. Cut diagonal slashes of about 1 inches apart across the whole loaf using a sharp knife. Beat the egg and then brush it over the top of the baguette.
For the baguette to rise, put it in a draft-free and warm area. This can take about 20-30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees 10 minutes before the baguette is risen. Once it rises, brush it for the second time using the egg white.
Slide the baguette into the oven and then bake. Based on how crispy and dark you want the crust to be, baking time varies between 18-25 minutes.
Slightly cool the baguette, slice, and serve it right away.
2. Yeast Bread
Yeast bread is one where yeast is used to leaven. The yeast makes the bread rise to make it airy and light. Yeast bread is common among many households because it is delicious and easy to make.
Serving size: 12
Cooking time: 3 hours
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp. dry yeast
- tsp. and 1 tbsp. erythritol sweetener, divided
- 1 and 1/8 cups warm water, at 100F
- 3 tbsp. avocado oil
- 1 cup almond flour
- cup oat flour
- cup soy flour
- cup ground flax meal
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Instructions:
Gather all the ingredients for the bread and plug in the bread machine.
Pour water into the bread bucket, stir in teaspoon sugar and yeast and let it rest for 10 minutes until emulsified.
Meanwhile, take a large bowl, place the remaining ingredients in it, and stir until mixed.
Pour flour mixture over yeast mixture in the bread bucket, shut the lid, select the basic/white cycle or low-carb setting and then press the up/down arrow button to adjust baking time according to your bread machine; it will take 3 to 4 hours.
Then press the crust button to select light crust if available and press the start/stop button to switch on the bread machine.
When the bread machine beeps, open the lid, take out the breadbasket and lift out the bread.
Let the bread cool on a wire rack for 1 hour, then cut it into twelve slices and serve.
3. Bacon and Cheddar Bread
With this one-pot dinner, you'll satisfy everyone in the family with ease. It's a dish that will taste good no matter what the appetite and is perfect for those days when there just doesn't seem to be enough time. The bacon, cheddar, and onion make a hearty combination that can't be beat, but if you don't care for onions or if your family is anti-bacon, feel free to omit them.
