Introduction
For many, the crowning moment of any pizza is its cheesiness. And if you can make an entire cheese pizza playing with different complimenting cheeses, that would be the way to go for many. But who says it cant be the case? A classic 4-cheese pizza called Quattro Formaggi has been the favorite of many people not only vegetarians.
Hence, having tracked this desire, we decided to create a cookbook that features mainly cheeses. Not only for the splurge but also to widen your options when trying out cheeses with pizza. So, here we have thirty fantastic combos or single ones in some cases to show you how right you can enjoy cheesy pizzas. Come along.
For the Thin Pizza Crust
This pizza crust recipe is a standard one to fit all the recipes in and beyond this cookbook. It is simple, thin crust, and is the perfect base for complimenting cheeses.
Prep Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 10 mins Serves: 4 Ingredients:
- 2 cups warm water
- 3 tsp instant yeast
- cup sugar
- 6 cups all-purpose flour + extra for dusting
- 2 tsp salt
- cup olive oil + extra for greasing
Instructions: In a bowl, mix the warm water, instant yeast, and sugar. Stir until the sugar and yeast dissolve. In another bowl, mix the flour and salt. Pour in the warm water mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough comes together. Dust a kneading surface with flour and transfer the dough on top.
Knead the dough a few times until smooth. Roll the dough into a ball. Grease a bowl with olive oil and place the dough inside. Cover with a napkin and place in a warm place e.g., like the top of your fridge or warmed but turned off oven. When the dough has doubled in size, use a fist to press the dough to release the air trapped in the dough. Divide the dough into 4 pieces.
Transfer one piece to a floured surface and roll the dough into a thin piece. You can wrap the other pieces in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to use. Place the dough on your pizza pan and bake for 10 minutes in a 350 F preheated oven. Remove the crust and get ready to add your cheese toppings.
1. Mozzarella and Cheddar Pizza
You have a classic right here that creates a grilled cheese mood, except that you can top the pizza with more cheddar than grilled cheese.

- 1 pizza crust
- 1 cups pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- tsp garlic powder
- tsp dried oregano
- cup shredded cheddar cheese
- cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- tsp dried basil
- Chopped fresh basil for garnish
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 425 F. Spread the pizza sauce on the pizza crust. Spread the mozzarella cheese on top and add the garlic powder, oregano, cheddar, Parmesan cheese, and basil. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheeses have melted. Take out the pizza, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve.

- 4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt to taste
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 425 F. Spread the pizza sauce on the pizza crust. Tear the fresh mozzarella cheese on top and add the shredded mozzarella, garlic powder, oregano, and salt. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheeses have melted.
Take out the pizza, slice and serve.
3. Classic Quattro Formaggi Pizza (4-Cheese Pizza)
The classic Quattro Formaggi would always impress anyone that has it. It is a masterpiece of 4-cheese pairings and here, we give you this set in its authenticity. Prep Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins Serves: 4 Ingredients:
- 1 pizza crust
- cup pizza sauce
- cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- cup gorgonzola cheese
- cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 425 F. Spread the pizza sauce on the pizza crust.
Spread the mozzarella cheese on top and add the gorgonzola cheese, Swiss cheese, Parmesan, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the cheeses have melted. Take out the pizza, slice and serve.
4. Grana Padano-Fontina Pizza
Grana Padano has nutty hints of Parmesan but is a lot milder. Hence, making it comfortable to pair with other cheeses like fontina while exploring its exception.
