Preface:
In my 10 years of working in digital word, there has been two major challenges that keeps repeating it itself from the reset. These 2 challenges seemed to repeat to so frequent that I had to device a way to get away from it.
The first challenge is the constant change in the algorithm of Google. They call it the penguin update, panda update and other fancy names. I had to tough time coping up and hence always wanted sure proof way to find a way to beat this monster. (These algorithm update were not limited to google, but included social networks too)
Second challenge is the poor understanding of the business heads on the important and relevant of keywords (or words) on how they customers or prospects use when enquiring or referring their products. Business leaders & product managers who are in love with their product or service think that the world needs them and think their prospects are searching and needing them.
Only the opposite is true. With inundated choices, users online are now having plentiful of choices. Hence, it is the onus on the business & product owners to speak the language of the users and not force things into them. You need to know the mental models on how people search for and then build your marketing campaign.
This book will solve the above two issues, algorithm changes will no longer affect your marketing campaigns & you will know the science of finding the right keyword for your business.
So, having got tired of changes in Algorithms over and over again from Google, Facebook, Twitter, who would make it difficult to find the right spot or community where my target audience were talking & engaging, I wanted a foolproof method finding my target community not be depending on the algorithm changes (that happens very sporadically these days) and saving you hard earned money going down the paid medium that they try to force you upon..
In this Ebook you will find systematically the process to attack the problem, from finding the right keyword for your business, followed by how to find your target web communities and finally how to benefit from their relationship over a period of time.
Most books out there only talk about the theory and philosophy. Well, I am kind of person who enjoys doing things than just discussing about them.
This is a How to manual on step by step to identify on how the relevant audience for your product are searching for your service/business and how you can best use the tools to do market research to position them to best get the attraction & finally how you can build a community of your own people in a very limited budget without spending on the Paid networks.
Remember, once you find the community that you would like to engage with, the benefits will include building strong relation and then ultimately lead to monetary benefit, which a sale of product/service for lifetime, until you jeopardize the relationship.
Part 1: Fundamentals of Online Marketing
1: There are all type of people: Who do you want to follow you?
Let us for a moment move away from the Digital community for a moment. Time tested principles of marketing should not be limited to digital world, but should also function in the real world (jargon: offline) we live in.
It is a holiday season, and you are having a family reunion of both, yours and your wifes relatives. Assembled to celebrate the weekend feast, you have with you, your aunts, uncles, nieces, grandparents, and some close& dear friends whom you are meeting after a very long time (from both sides).
Now we all have choices and favorites. From the big group, you want to have small dinner for which you want limit to only your favorite relation. You cant afford to have all of them, as that will become heavy on your wallet and also it would not be comfortable to let go of yourself totally among people you dont well.
So here is what you do. You decide to call out few words, but before you call, you draw a circle around the place where you stand. And then you say, I will callout few words, and it that interest matches you (big family members), they can come inside the circle from wherever they stand.
You Shout:
- Who is ready to Coffee Shop?
- Effect: You will have your wife, your aunts, some teenagers get inside the circle
- Who is ready for dinner with Ice-creams?
- The Kids are sure to stand up, some foodie lovers will get inside the circle
- Who is ready for scotch in the local bar?
Some uncles are sure to stand up, while their wives are sure to frown on.
What you Say, is what you are surrounded with.
2: Keywords & Keywords the centerpiece of Internet Marketing World
Very similar to how words attract certain types of people and form circles around you, on the Internet, circle of communities is formed around a theme. And then you dissect the theme to see what is made of, it is nothing, but written/posted words. (Order of the words also have its importance, we will cover that in later chapter)
Keywords (jargon used in the Internet Marketing for words that make up the theme) are the anchor words that attract & bind people into circles of similar types/tastes& interest groups.
Is it keywords which make them belong to the group, match them in level of expertise or use of these keywords that make them (online users) feel as if they are part of the particular commune in the open world of Web.
The topics that gets discussed is based heavily on the keywords.
On the Internet Dating tips keyword will attract certain types of online user, while the keyword Advanced dating tips different types of users will be flocking to it.
3: Knowing your Business in Keywords to circle your territory
Now that you realize the importance of Keywords, let us move on to the next step which is to identifying the keywords that is related to your project/business.
The benefit of knowing your business/service keywords, is once you know them well, you will attract your prospects instead of you running behind them. Also you will be able to speak the language your prospect & selling becomes much easy process.
Remember from the earlier lesson, if you use the right words, people who interested in your idea/services will start forming a community (circle) around it.
Before we get into Keywords World, we need to categorize them into 3 types
1: Core Keywords: Keywords that define your business.
2: Business Keywords: Keywords that belong to your business domain.
3: Competitor Keywords: Keywords that related to your competitor

In the real world, corporate spend millions of dollars to research &investigate into the needs of society. Corporates hire agencies, which then conduct interviews, surveys & focus group and whose job is to interpret the thoughts of the test target audience into words (keywords).
