Daniel G. Amen, M.D., author of Change Your Brain, Change Your Life
As a psychotherapist for the past twenty-eight years, I am all too aware that there are limits to what we can do. Most people dont even think of nutrition when they are feeling emotionally upset, but Julia Ross shows how simple changes in nutrition can have profound effects on mood and mental outlook. This book can empower you to take control of your own emotional life.
Bill OHanlon, author of Do One Thing Different

The Mood Cure works! Overall, my state of being is 100 percent improved over what it even was on antidepressants and anti-anxiety pills. This isnt to say I am 100 percent cured, but I am 100 percent improved.
A reader from New Jersey
I always thought that it was just me and that I was a worrier just by nature. After trying these nutrition tips, I have no obsessive thoughts or sleepless, anxiety-filled nights.
A reader from Georgia
After years of alcohol abuse and depression, I was treated with Zoloft and Wellbutrin and Prozac without success. My wife picked up this book in our library and by following the recommendations I am now feeling great (depression free).

Authors Note
T he nutritional repair tools described in this book are not intended as substitutes for any needed psychotherapy, spiritual guidance, or medical care. They are intended to provide additional relief, where appropriate.
If you have a known or suspected medical condition, or are taking medication of any kind, or have specific health concerns, you should consult a qualified health care provider before following any of the suggestions in this book. Supplement and pharmaceutical dosages are intended only as guidelines. Dosage and results will vary according to the specific needs of each individual. Because this book cannot respond to individuals needs and circumstances, as we do in our clinic, you should ask a qualified health care professional to help you assess and apply The Mood Cure. Particularly where mood symptoms are severe or there is a known sensitivity to supplements or medications, it is critical that expert advice be sought before any of the nutrient supplement suggestions are followed, as they could make some conditions, such as bipolar disorder, worse. Although we did our best to provide sound and useful information, we cannot and do not promise results to a reader, nor can we or do we accept liability to anyone who may use the book.
Acknowledgments
I am grateful to all the members of the gifted team that worked together so beautifully on my first book, The Diet Cure, and rallied itself once again to produce The Mood Cure:
Eugenia Clift Dreyfus, with her acute nutritional intuition, her tender and almost limitless patience, her incredible capacity for detail-tending, her sense of humor, and her dear friendship.
Nutritional research queen Krispin Sullivan, N.C., who unearthed most of the jewel-like references that stud the text of The Mood Cure, and offered support on many other fronts.
Jared Dreyfus, master wordsmith, who unraveled the worst of the prose, and keen-eyed and -minded copy editor Sona Vogel, who wrestled the manuscript to the mat.
Sharna Rose, chef extraordinaire, whose culinary contributions have been so helpful, once again.
