Praise for Erwin Lutzer and He Will Be the Preacher
I have to admit, I was humbled to be asked to endorse a book by Erwin Lutzer.
Yes, his life has been greatly impacted by my father, Billy Graham, and I understand and appreciate that fact; however, Daddy, who greatly admires Dr. Lutzer, would want all glory given to God for any influence he had on his life.
I have been truly blessed reading this book. It tells a simple yet profound story of how one man was chosen by God, even from his cradle, to be a preacher. It shows how he was available to the leadings of the Holy Spirit, and how ordinary choices and decisions have shaped his life. How overcoming many obstacles, including extreme shyness, didnt deter him from his calling.
What an encouragement to all men and women, young and old, to be reminded of how God leads His dear children along. Dr. Lutzer is not only a great preacher, but because of his gentle spirit and deep compassion he is also a true pastor.
I am privileged to call him my friend.
GIGI GRAHAM

An autobiography written by a Christian can be a dangerous feat to attempt. However, this one highlights the God of the man behind the man of God who wrote it. The life story of my friend Pastor Erwin Lutzer is informative for its history, inspiring by its example, and even instructive for anyone serving in ministry or contemplating an obedient response to Gods call to a lifetime of faithful service.
MARK L. BAILEY
President, Dallas Theological Seminary
Dr. Erwin Lutzers He Will Be the Preacher offers an inside look at how God can take a timid young man from a farming background and lead him to become one of the most influential ministers in America. Readers will be encouraged and inspired by the story and impact of a life well lived for the glory of God.
DR. JOHN ANKERBERG
President and host of The John Ankerberg Show
I love biographies, and thats why I was excited when Erwin gave me his autobiography to read! I had yet more to learn from this man who has been a dear friend and counselor over the years.
The three words in this book that describe the value of reading Erwins story are, I asked God. If you want to know what it is like to ask God about anything and everything, from finding a parking space and a mate to the wheres and hows of ministry, valuing your wife when youre not on the same page, fighting crippling emotions, lawsuits, ministering in an antagonistic culture with the love of Christ, and so much more, then this is a book you dont want to miss! Ive been discipled!

Erwin Lutzer is as gifted a writer as he is a communicator. Pastor Lutzers passion to proclaim the transforming power of the gospel with clarity and boldness, in a variety of contexts over many years, is instructive for all of us, and arguably his greatest legacy. It was a privilege to serve as executive pastor with him for seven years, but I am even more grateful to call Erwin my friend for many more.

Every life touched by the grace of God has a story. A story that includes thirty-five years as pastor of the historic Moody Church is exceptional. Rejoice.

Dr. Lutzer has been an incisive Bible teacher and gospel apologist for decades. But often the best messages are life messages. In this book Dr. Lutzer shares warmly and transparently about pastoral ministry, family life, cultural analysis, and lessons that can only be learned from hard experience. This book is as much human treasure as spiritual wisdom. Its a read that will both nourish and delight.
BYRON PAULUS

COLIN S. SMITH

This is a book about God and His faithfulness in the life of Erwin Lutzer. In it Dr. Lutzer describes how God took him from a remote farm in Canada and providentially directed him, using His people, circumstances and decisions to guide in his life. For thirty five years Pastor Lutzer has consistently modeled servant leadership with humility as senior pastor of The Moody Church. This book will encourage you to trust God in all things and remind you that it is really all about God and His grace.
BERVIN PETERSON
Chairman, board of elders, The Moody Church
Im so glad that my friend Erwin Lutzer has written this book to show both the blessings and trials of being a pastor. More than that, this book shows us how God often grows leaders in the most remote circumstances and only in retrospect can we see His remarkable, providential hand. In these pages you will find a ringing affirmation of Gods sovereignty in all of our lives, even extending to the details of life.
