At long last the Cross of the Lamb is being brought back to the center of the Church on earth, even as the Lamb is the center of the Church in Heaven.
I want to express my deep appreciation to Pastors Chris and Susan Clay for their powerful ministry of the Cross and for their valuable input into this book.
Gratitude fills my heart to all the pastors in England who have allowed our team of passionate young revivalists to come to their churches to help spread the fire and the glory of the Cross. I thank God for Mark and Sherryl Baines and Sarah Clay in Cambridge, Rod and Michelle Smith in Norwich, Jonathan and Laquisha Featherstone in Peterborough, Richard and Sheila Goddard in London, Tim and Cara Griffith in south London, David and Jackie Harland in Brighton, Pete and Julia Rooke in Dorchester, Pastor Tate in Weymouth, and Henry and Erica Schmidt in British Columbia.
I also appreciate pastors in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Romania, and Kenya.
I especially want to acknowledge my own pastor John Kilpatrick, at Church of His Presence in Daphne, Alabama, who deeply loves the blood of the Lamb and carries the spirit of revival.
Yes, at last the time has come for Gods eternal Son to receive the glory He deserves for drinking the Fathers Cup, pouring out His own blood, and rising to release Unquenchable Flames of revival to this earth. Nothing so pleases the Fathers heart as seeing His own pierced Son receive the reward He deserves for giving His life as a Lamb on the Cross.
Introduction
Raw Hunger
Rekindling a Passion for the
Cross of the Son
A raw hunger gnaws at the soul of the Western Church. We know something is missing, but what is it? Where are the prophets who will discern the emptiness that has crept silently into the Church in the past 100 years?
Where are the prophetic voices like John the Baptist who will cry, Look, the Lamb of God! until we are baptize[d] with the Holy Spirit and with fire (John 1:29; Luke 3:16)?
Where are the preachers like Peter who will preach the gospel with such power that people will be cutpiercedto the heart (see Acts 2:37)?
Where are the apostles like the apostle Paul who will resolve to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Cor. 2:2), then will change the world with this message?
Where are the visionaries like John who will look until they see the slain Lamb on the throne in Heaven (see Rev. 5:6), then will reveal Him here on earth?
Where are those like the Moravians crying, May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering! who then will lead 100 years of prayer and missions?
Where are those like John Wesley who will cry, Give me 100 men who fear only God, who hate only sin, and who have resolved to know nothing but Jesus Christ and him crucified, then will turn their entire country upside down?
Yes, where are the prophets today who can discern the void in the Western Church? We rush hopefully to the latest conference or meeting. Why? Because we are desperately hungry for God! We long to burn with a passion inside that never ceases. We yearn for the undying flames of revival that Jesus died to give us.
Oh, how can we have a revival that never fades out? How can we burn inside and never lose the fire?
There is only one way
Its not what you might expect. Its not a new revelation. Its as old as the Bible, but we have simply overlooked it.
Youll find it on a lowly hill where the blood of God spilled down upon this earth. Youll see it unveiled when you take another look at the timeless message of the Cross. This is not some dry, outdated, powerless message. Its the hiding place of Gods true power: The message of the cross is the power of God (1 Cor. 1: 18).
As Derek Prince wrote near the end of his long and fruitful life, To those who are preachers and ministers, do not ever leave the cross out of your preaching. When you do youre like the drill sergeant giving excellent orders to people without the power to carry them out. That power comes only from the cross.
The hour indeed has come to bring the Cross of the Lamb out of the shadows. Even as the Lamb is in the center of the throne in Heaven (see Rev. 5:6; 7:17), its time for the Lamb to become the center of the throne on earth.
In the Old Testament, the fire always fell on the lamb (explained in revival into the Cross, where an Eternal Flame burns on and on forever.
This is My Son!
There is, however, a far higher reason for unveiling the Lamb in this hour. It is to please the Fathers heart. In Heaven He gazes continually on His Son, sitting as a slain Lamb. Now the Father pulls back the veil and cries, This is My Son! When will the Church bring My Son the reward He deserves for giving His life as a Lamb?
The Father longs for a generation to arise who will live only to see His Son glorified. He searches for a bride whose heart bleeds with love for His Son. Who has allowed her heart to be pierced through and through with the power of His Cross. He yearns for a people who will live only to bring His Son the reward of His sacrifice.
So will you come now through the pages of this book and focus on the Cross of the Lamb in a fresh new way? Will you dig into historic revivals to discover the message that kept these flames alive? Even more, will you open wide to the Fathers Cup until a ceaseless trembling begins in your heart? Will you bare your soul to the apostolic sword of the Cross until it cuts to the core of your being?
