Y ou and I have so much to be thankful for because we have the Bible. In it Jesus teaches us what perfect humanity is, and then He lives it for us. He isnt an untouchable superstar. Our Lord is our companion and our model as we make a prayerful, faithful effort to live Gods way. Biblical standards that seem so hard for us are clearly seen in Him. Because He shows us the way as a fellow human, we can follow Him with confidence and conviction and live out the qualities He possessed.
Isnt it incredible that our Savior experienced all that we experience as humans, including hunger, thirst, weariness, love, sadness, and even anger, yet without sin? My prayer is that as you read these devotions inspired by Gods Word and the life of Jesus, theyll encourage you as a woman who seeks to demonstrate His grace, love, and obedience in every circumstance.
Lets begin this great journey to renew your heart and mind so you can know the perfect will of God and live it with great joy and gratitude. Praise Him!
W here does God have you today? What roles and responsibilities has the Lord given you? And how about your dreams and your hearts desires? Many of these questions and their answers indicate Gods directions for your life. Thats why I am encouraging you to take time to discover what the Bible says about your rolesand then pray about them.
Gods road to success is quite simple: As you faithfully follow Him with all your heart and are obedient to fulfill His will for you, you will be blessed. You will enjoy success. Yes, youre human and will have moments when you fail, fall down, or stay in one place for a while. But as you rely on God and do what He asks of you through His Word and prayer, He will give you the desire and confidenceand powerto move on and enjoy life in Him.
Lord, as I look into Your Word, my heart is moved. Open my eyes to Your will. Strengthen me to step out on the path to greater faithfulness so I can better carry out Your will. Bless me in the ways You choose. Amen .
Y our desires and choices as one who walks in the light are governed by your prior determination to please God and not yourself. When you do this and bear the fruit of goodness, righteousness, and truthfulness, you reflect His light to those in darkness. God says,
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16).
Imagine! Just as you are able to physically assist someone in the dark by giving them a flashlight, you are able to help others as you reflect the light that is yours as a child of the Supreme Light.
Lord, I walk in Your light with gratitude and awe. I desire to share Your light with the world by making righteous and holy decisions. Use me, Lord, so that I can glorify You. Amen .
T he hope we derive from the promise of Jesus coming helps us to wait patiently. When He arrives, He will set everything in order. He will make things right. He will correct all abuses. He will bring deliverance from our suffering. Let the certainty of the Lords return encourage your heart as you endure hard times, moments that seem endless, and the unknowns of tomorrow.
Where is your gaze fixed? Downward on the suffering you must endure? Or upwardin the direction from which Jesus will come? Your patience will be helped when you trust the promise of His return. You and I live with what is, but we have the promise of what is to be. And in-between is the waiting. You can fret, worry, and paceor you can put on a heart of patience (Colossians 3:12 NASB ). Which will it be?
Lord, Im making the decision to be still and to trust in Your promises. Today is hard, but I will wait for the rain of Your love to fall upon me. I will wait with hope for Your grace to show me the way You want me to go. Amen .
W henever your life seems to be out of control or you feel like the world and its pressures are crashing in on you, realize and remember God is sovereign. He is in charge, and He is a faithful, flawless administrator. He is working out His good and acceptable and perfect will. His purpose in saving you and showering a continuing multitude of blessings upon you has been established.
