This book is dedicated to the countless Christians across America who hold full-time jobs, have families to take care of at home, and are very busy in lifes various endeavorsyet still desire to become equipped to defend the truth of Christianity against errant teaching. May this little book assist you in reaching that worthy goal!
A special thanks to the staff at Harvest House Publishers for coming up with the idea for this concise treatment on the Jehovahs Witnesses. All of us agree there is a real need for such a book.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank the thousands of people who contacted me following the publication of my earlier book, Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovahs Witnesses (a considerably longer booksupplementary to the present volumethat is available in Christian bookstores). Your words of encouragement and your commitment to the cause of apologetics among cultists has been an inspiration to me.
Most of all, as always, I give heartfelt thanks to my wife, Kerri, and two children, David and Kylie, without whose support it would truly be impossible for me to do what I do.
Contents
T his book is short on purpose. The chapters in this book are short on purpose. I believe there is something to be said for brevity. However, and I want to emphasize this very strongly, brevity should not be thought of as shallow. Focusing on ten critical points to share with your Jehovahs Witness friends, this book provides you with the most important apologetic information in the briefest possible fashion. In a day of information overload, the merits of such an approach are obvious.
Each chapter addresses an important issue to raise with Jehovahs Witnesses and includes supportive arguments to substantiate that particular issue. My desire is that you not only have the necessary information to hold your own in conversing with Jehovahs Witnesses on the doorstep, but that you would also become equipped to lead the Jehovahs Witness to the true God, the true Jesus, and the true gospel of grace. I pray that God uses you to bring Jehovahs Witnesses out of the kingdom of darkness and into the kingdom of lightthe kingdom of Jesus Christ (see Colossians 1:13,14).
If the concise information in this book causes you to want to go deeper and learn even more about interacting with Jehovahs Witnesses, thats great! I urge you to pick up and dig into my larger volume, Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovahs Witnesses , which is more than three times the length of the book you are holding in your hands. These two books complement each other nicely. In fact, at the end of each chapter in this book are the relevant page numbers from Reasoning from the Scriptures with the Jehovahs Witnesses for further study.
