N early twelve years ago I found myself suffering from an incurable illness. Its effective treatment escaped nearly seventy doctors. Yes, I felt hopeless. Yes, I was afraid. DAY 2

M ost people who end up in ambulances and emergency rooms get there because they had an accident or a health crisis. And the emergency care they receive is often life saving.

That is quite different from evaluating our national lifestyle to arrive at one of healthy living that prevents disease. The concept of preventative medicine has only recently been given media attention.

DAY 3

M ost Americans eat great quantities of food frequently, based on convenience. In fact, the entire fast-food and TV dinner industries have flourished due to our fast-paced lifestyles that demand we eat convenient foods.

Unfortunately, our Creator didnt design our bodies to operate at optimum levels on junk food, fast food, or prepackaged foods prepared in microwave ovens. His laws that govern our entire human nature, including our health, bring consequences when violated, whether or not we accept the fact that they are still in place. The good news is, however, that we can change our lifestyles and avoid the health problems so many others face.

Begin to think of your body as the temple of Gods Holy Spirit; good health and a long life will be the result.

DAY 4

E lmer A. Josephson, a pioneer who dared to challenge the stream of popular dietary trends, said, There is no portion of the commandments of God in general, or of the Mosaic code in particular, that is not based on a scientific understanding of fundamental law. The laws of God are enforced and are as sure as the law of gravity.

DAY 5

A ll of Gods laws are like His law of gravitythey cant be changed. Our Creator specifically designed us to function best on the Makers Diet. In order to benefit from His plan, we must examine exactly what food is biblical and what food is unclean, unhealthy, or unacceptable according to both God and science (in that order).

For one week, keep a food journal to see what foods you are consuming. You may be surprised at the amount of unhealthy food you actually eat.

DAY 6

P eter Rothschild, MD, PhD, wrote an unpublished book entitled The Art of Health. In a chapter called Please Dont Eat the Wrapper, he writes:

It suddenly dawned on us that God, the greatest master nutritionist of all times, has given us an all-purpose diet more than 3000 years ago.

There is abundant historic evidence that reveals that the average Israelite, up to the end of the last century [19th], was much longer lived than the average Gentile.

However, beginning with World War I, both diet and hygiene began to slacken among the children of Israel all over the planet, until only a small fraction remains true to biblical tradition.The trend of longevity is gradually vanishing among the non-observant. It appears that God indeed knew what nourishment to recommend.

M ichael D. Jacobson, DO, has noted that in the mid-fourteenth century, bubonic plague wiped out one-fourth of Europes population in just one year. But read historys record of how the Jewish people fared in the face of it:

Hundreds of years prior to the discovery of bacteria, the Jews were protecting themselves from the deadly Yersinia pestis microbe by practicing cleanliness and good hygiene.More than three thousand years before man discovered bacteria, the Creator had given detailed instructions that, if followed, would prevent the spread of such a deadly communicable disease.
