William A. Everett is Curators Distinguished Professor of Musicology at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, Conservatory of Music and Dance. He teaches courses in American musical theatre, nineteenth-century music and medieval music. His books include Sigmund Romberg (2007), Rudolf Friml (2008) and Music for the People: A History of the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra, 193382 (2016). With Paul Laird, he is the coauthor of The Historical Dictionary of the Broadway Musical (2008, 2nd edn, 2015), and was co-commissioning editor for musical theatre for the Grove Dictionary of American Music , 2nd edn.
Paul R. Laird is Professor of Musicology at the University of Kansas School of Music. He has published widely on musical theatre and presented papers in the US, Canada and the UK. His books include Wicked: A Musical Biography (2011), The Musical Theatre of Stephen Schwartz (2014), Leonard Bernstein: A Guide to Research (2002, 2nd edn, with Hsun Lin, 2015) and Leonard Bernsteins Chichester Psalms (2010).

Bud Coleman, Roe Green Professor of Theatre at the University of Colorado at Boulder, is Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. A former dancer with Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Fort Worth Ballet, Kinesis and Ballet Austin, he has directed/choreographed Rent, The Producers, Little Shop of Horrors, Seussical, A Grand Night for Singing, Pippin, Wonderful Town, Songs in the Key of Caffeine (also librettist) , A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Mikado, Into the Woods, Merrily We Roll Along, Lysistrata, Dames at Sea, Hair, Six Degrees of Separation , the opera Being of Sound Mind and numerous other productions. Coleman has a PhD in Theatre History and Criticism from the University of Texas at Austin, and his publications have appeared in the St. James Press Gay & Lesbian Almanac , qlbtq.com, New York Native, Theatre History Studies, The Austin American-Statesman, Theatre InSight and Choreography and Dance . With coeditor Judith Sebesta, he published Women in American Musical Theatre: Essays on Lyricists, Writers, Arrangers, Choreographers, Designers, Producers and Performance Artists (2007) and coauthored with Pamyla Stiehl, Back Stage Pass, A Survey of American Musical Theatre (2013).
