About the Authors Jim Tunstall has been on the staff of The Tampa Tribune since 1978. His freelance travel articles have been published in Better Homes & Gardens, the Chicago Sun-Times, Sky, Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, the San Francisco Examiner, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and dozens of other national and regional publications. He lives in Lecanto, FL, a radar blip not far from Florida's Gulf Coast (and Rod Serling's Twilight Zone)with his co-author and incredibly beautiful wife (she gave him a bigger share of the royalties to say that, but he would have said it for free). Their space is shared by two horses, two dogs, two cats, a singular parrot and plenty of cranky wildlife, including polecats (skunks, to you Yankees), feral hogs and a gopher tortoise named Ike. At times, the ranch is a little crowded. Cynthia Tunstall has been a freelance writer and photographer for more than 18 years (she insists she started when she was 11), specializing in travel, equestrian sports and wildlife. Her stories and photography have appeared in Islands, Better Homes & Gardens, Country America, Elegant Bride, the Miami Herald, Sky, Seattle Homes & Lifestyles,the Chicago Sun-Times, Buffalo News, the San Francisco Examiner and other national and regional publications. She has written two additional books not related to travel: Recipes for Love (Bartlett Publishing) and Training and Showing Your Miniature Horse (Small Horse Press). She admits she's to blame for the menagerie at the Rancho Tunstall. They are also the authors of The Adventure Guide to Northern Florida and the Panhandle from Hunter Publishing.
