DEDICATION
Jessica Dawn Smith, my granddaughter, knew long before I did that we had to have a Miniature Horse. Thank goodness she was able to convince me that was true. I dedicate this book to her.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
There are many people who helped me write The Book of Miniature Horses. Leslie Ward, editor of Young Rider magazine, introduced me to Bruce Curtis. Bruce is an extraordinary photographer, who came up with the idea of a book about Miniature Horses and invited me to write the text. Thank you, Bruce and Leslie. I also thank Bruce for introducing me to his agent, Rita Rosenkranz. Rita, thank you for your hard work and good advice. Steven D. Price, who is the editor of this book, I thank you for your expertise and patience. Bless your heart.
Several Miniature Horse owners, trainers, and breeders and other experts shared their knowledge with me and I am thankful for their contributions. My friends and family who supported me by listening, smiling, and nodding politely while I talked about writing The Book of Miniature Horses, thank you. And last but not least, I thank my eldest daughter, Dineane. I would never have done it without her.
