Dear Dr. Thomas C. Calhoun,
When I started my academic career, you provided the scholarly rearing I needed, but was afraid to receive. Through your mentoring, I have been able to navigate the academic pipeline. I am one of many students whose life has been changed through your guidance. When I expressed my gratitude, you told me to pay it forward; you told me to provide the same guidance and mentorship for others. Now, I teach and mentor every student in the altruistic manner in which you mentored me. You have planted many scholarly seeds who are bearing fruit in your likeness. Your legacy will live on because we will continue to mentor as you have mentored us.
This dedication is a small thank you that cannot begin to repay everything you have given me.
Your Student,
Addrain Conyers, PhD
