9,204,375 students have taken the new official SAT test 1,874 students have achieved a perfect SAT score of 2400 of those 1,874 students has authored a full-length SAT prep book Shaan Patel wasnt a good standardized-test taker in high school. He grew up in a small motel and attended urban public schools in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The first time he took a practice SAT, he scored 1760. Although the score was respectable, Shaan wasnt satisfied. In the summer of 2006, he adopted a no-nonsense approach to SAT preparation and mastered the effective strategies of the SAT elite. In his senior year, Shaan took the October 2006 SAT and achieved what less than .02% of high school students have: a perfect 2400.
Shaans 2400 took his academic success to new heights: He gained admission to prestigious universities, secured over $230,000 in scholarships, and received several national awards, such as Presidential Scholar, USA Todays All-USA High School Academic Team Honorable Mention, and National Merit Finalist. Shaan currently attends the Keck School of Medicine at USC and plans to become a physician. Shaan wrote SAT 2400 in Just 7 Steps to help students across the nation achieve their SAT and college goals. He hopes this book will open the gates of elite SAT preparation to students from all backgrounds.

1 Learn how to study for the SAT
Dear SAT Test Taker,
Welcome! You have just picked up the only full-length SAT preparation manual written by a student who achieved a perfect 2400 score in high school.
SAT 2400 in Just 7 Steps offers an innovative, practical, unparalleled approach to SAT preparation. If you follow the methods I used to achieve a perfect 2400, you will surely be successful. Who am I? Well, on paper Im a student who scored a perfect 2400 on his SAT, was admitted to prestigious universities, won over $230,000 in college scholarships, and was awarded honors such as National Merit Finalist,
USA Todays All-USA High School Academic Team Honorable Mention, Presidential Scholar, and even Homecoming King.
But who am I really? Well, I am just like you. Although I now have some impressive honors, I once had no clue. As a teenager, I spent a lot of time playing sports, procrastinating on homework, text messaging, devouring fast food, checking Facebookand knowing hardly anything about the SAT. I attended various urban public schools and lived in a small, inner-city motel that my family owned. My parents emigrated from India to America in the late 1980s and never attended college in the U.S. Before I began uncovering the strategies, methods, and approaches necessary to do well on the SAT, I was no genius at taking standardized tests.
In fact, on the first practice SAT I ever took, I only scored 1760. Thats when I began to scour every SAT prep book I could find, read loads of college-prep information, and pester high-scoring SAT students for their test-taking secrets. Eventually, I became a self-taught SAT expert myself. Luckily, Ive done all the hard work for you: Ive put everything you need to know about how to succeed on the SAT in this simple, easy-to-read book. So who am I
