His stories crafted the magical worlds and sentiments embellished through a childs eyes. That captivating enchantment that drew me in as a child resounds in me today, as a photographer, now raising my own little ones and inciting their personal quests of exploration and magical adventure.
I have always considered myself a creative in various mediums, but I did not fully explore the art of photography until I had my own children. Becoming a parent evoked in me a fervor to take pause, to notice, to enjoy, to relish, and to immerse myself in the small joys and wonder of innocence and youth. Photographs, above all, create indelible moments from which we can re-experience, remember, and reform meaning. And capturing children, especially my own, in this indelible form amidst the brief staccato of youth, is the most delightful endeavor. I personally invite you into the magical world of kids. My aim is to brighten your day.
Take pause and enjoy this artful collection of whimsical images of children in play and reverie. And to borrow from Dahl, Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who dont believe in magic will never find it. May you find some magic in these pages. Take pause and enjoy this artful collection of whimsical images of children in play and reverie. It is well known that animals make wonderful companions.
Often, children are drawn to furry friendsboth real and imagined. It is is also common to gift young ones with a beloved stuffed animal to serve as a cuddling comfort, which can later transcend into a special object of security that is worth documenting. When photographing children, I am often asked to include the cherished family pet. I also invite parents to bring along any lovie that may put the child at ease during their photo session. Capturing these special bonds through imagery, with both living and pretend creatures, often translates into a beautiful story.
