How can I increase my Spanish vocabulary? And how can I get it faster?
Spanish Hacks is the answer to these questions.
One of the main reasons why we feel frustrated when we are learning a language is the lack of vocabulary to express our ideas and thoughts. Quickly acquiring large amounts of vocabulary can be a huge challenge if you use a bad method, but it can be very easy if you use cognates, look at these words: legal (Eng.) and legal (Spa.), both mean the same, or these: visionary (Eng.) and visionario (Spa.) their writing is very similar and its meaning is the same.
Spanish Hacks has 1000 words with these characteristics organized as flashcards, waiting for you to take your Spanish to a pro-level.

INTRODUCTION

T his book is the answer to the questions: How can I increase my Spanish vocabulary? And how can I get it faster?

Imagine for a moment that your best friend is called John, he is your lifelong friend, you know what he likes and what he doesn't like, you know his parents and John knows yours and everyone treats each other as if they were family. You two have even gone on vacation together and have worked together on many occasions.

One day you decide that you will be part of a large company that has more than 570 million employees worldwide, and on your first day at the company, your boss takes you to meet your partner, "Juan". When you get to your office you meet John and you say, "Hey John, how are you?", but before he answers, your boss tells you, he's "Juan," the rule is that here you should call him "Juan." At first, you feel bewildered, but you end up accepting that you should call him "Juan" because no matter what you call him, he is your best friend and you know him well.

Dear reader this whole story is to introduce you to cognates, cognates are words of everyday use in English and Spanish, these words share the same stem as John or Juan, (Juan is the same as John, your friend, but in Spanish), by this reason the cognates shares the same meaning in English and Spanish and in some cases they are written in same way as animal (Eng.) and animal (Spa.), and in other, they change a little as electric and elctrico.

These two characteristics: are similar when writing and have equal meaning, combined with the fact that there are hundreds of cognates between English and Spanish, make them your allies when you are learning the Spanish since you can acquire a lot of vocabulary with understandable meaning without much effort from you.

A few years ago, the linguist and second language learning specialist Stephen Krashen taught us, that the best way to learn a language is not by studying it, but to acquire it and that the best way to acquire it is through comprehensible inputs for those who are learning the language.

Hence the importance of cognates as they are an essential tool to boost your Spanish. Also, to make the assimilation more easily, we have arranged cognates in groups of 20 words in flashcards.

The method of learning using flashcards is really useful as it is quite lucid, and it is extremely easy to verify the correct answer. Besides, it is perfect to reinforce the memory and remembrance of the words learned, and with it quickly assimilate Spanish.

This book is organized in two segments, the first segment deals with semi-perfect cognates and is made up of 640 words beginning with "abandon" and ending with "zoology".

The second segment is made up of 360 perfect cognates and begins with the word "abdomen" and ends with "yogurt".

The two segments cover commonly used words in the different fields of knowledge for English and Spanish, from A to Z.
