He was with his family.
They were on Paradise Island. And it was the best! There was lots to do on the island. Zac loved riding waves on his body board. Zac was 12 years old. But he was not an ordinary kid. He was a spy for a group called GIB.
Being a spy was top secret. Zacs code name at GIB was Agent Rock Star. Zac went on lots of cool spy missions. And he was GIBs test driver. This meant he got to test drive cool new gadgets. Zacs brother Leon was in charge of the GIB Test Labs.
Leons code name was Agent Tech Head. He was always making new gadgets. The gadgets were used to stop the evil spy group called BIG. Zac was on his body board in the water. He was out past the swimmers. He was waiting to ride a good wave.
He saw a big wave coming and started to paddle. Just as he did, a jet ski whooshed up beside him. The jet ski splashed water everywhere! The water around Zac got choppy. Zacs board was rocking like crazy. It was hard to hang on. Hey! Zac called out to the jet ski rider. Hey! Zac called out to the jet ski rider.
You almost knocked me off my board. And I missed my wave! The jet ski moved closer to Zac. Zac looked at the rider. He had blow-up floaties on his arms. I wore floaties when I was two years old! thought Zac. What is he thinking? So uncool! Zac went to paddle away.
Then Zac noticed what was on the floaties. It was the GIB logo. He must be a GIB spy, too, Zac thought. The rider smiled at Zac. Good morning, Agent Rock Star, said the jet ski rider. Im Agent Water Wings.
GIB needs you for a spy mission. Please hop on my jet ski. Nice floaties, Agent Water Wings, Zac laughed. Oh, these arent normal floaties, said Agent Water Wings. These are special-issue GIB floaties. Ill show you later what they do.
Right now, I have to take you to your brother Leon. Zac put his board in the jet skis board rack. Then he hopped on behind Agent Water Wings. The jet ski bounced across the waves. It pulled up on to the sand. There werent any people on the beach.
Agent Water Wings pointed to some palm trees. Agent Tech Head is waiting for you over there, he said. Goodbye, Agent Rock Star. Good luck. Zac walked over to Leon. Hey Leon, I thought we were on holiday? he said.
GIB spies work whenever they are needed, Zac, said Leon. I need you for a test drive. Come this way. Zac followed Leon through the palm trees. Sitting on the other side of the trees was a super cool sand buggy. It was painted a sandy colour.
It had four-wheel drive tyres. On the back of it was a solar panel. Its a solar powered dune buggy, said Leon. Awesome! said Zac. It blends into the sand so well. Very clever, Leon.
Yes, its the latest in spy sand travel, Zac, said Leon. It can drive on sand and on the road. I need you to take it for a test drive. Leon handed Zac the keys. Zac looked at the sand dunes. This should be fun, he said.
Then Leon gave Zac a shiny red gadget. Oh, and heres the new model SpyPad, said Leon. You can test it out, too. Give me your old one. You wont need it anymore. Zac groaned.
He loved his Spypad. Every GIB spy had one. It was a mobile phone and a computer. GIB used it to talk with their spies. Zac used his to download songs and games. Zacs Spypad was set up just how he liked it.
He didnt want a new one. Hand it over, Zac, said Leon. This new Pulse-tronic V-66 is heaps better. It has sound waves and X-ray. It is also waterproof. Dont forget to do your test drive report, said Leon. Dont forget to do your test drive report, said Leon.
Im on holiday, Leon, said Zac. I love to test drive. But do I really have to write a report? Yes, Leon rolled his eyes. Now, hurry and get on with the job. Zac got into the buggy and turned it on. The tyres were huge.
They rolled up the hill easily. This buggy is awesome, thought Zac. He drove over the hills like a racing car driver. After a while Zac took a break. Test driving ishot work, he thought. Cool! An ice-cream spidermaker, he thought. Cool! An ice-cream spidermaker, he thought.
Zac pushed the button. A cup popped up into the buggys cup holder. It had vanilla ice-cream in it. Then lemonade began to squirt into the cup. Just what I feel like! thought Zac. Now time for a snack, he thought. Now time for a snack, he thought.
