Introduction
Disc Golf has been playedbasically the same way since the early 1970s.
The object of the game is to traverse a course fromthe beginning to the end in the fewest throws of the disc. Thecompetitor who plays the stipulated round or rounds in the fewestthrows plus penalty throws is the winner. (From the PDGA ruleshandbook).
Wed been playing disc golf for over ten years, andwe were always looking for ways to make the game more fun (is thateven possible?). When you play the same home course over and overagain, any golf game can get a little stale. So we came up withsome interesting variations to the game. What eventually came outof the mix was a game called 3T Revolution (3T Rev forshort), which gave us more variety and a different way toscore. And, as a bonus, it became a faster game as well; perfectfor sneaking in a round without the boss catching on.
3T Revolution is disc golf unleashed. Its the sameskill set, but an alternative way to play and score. What followsis a handbook on 3T Revolution what it is, how to play and score, variations and such.
This game is fast, challenging, and fun. Our hope isthat it catches on. We are not looking to replace disc golf, butrather to add an alternative way to utilize a disc golf course.Read on, play, and enjoy.

3T Revolution (3TRev for short) is a revolutionary new way to compete and scorewhen playing a round at a disc golf course. Each hole is played andscored differently, depending on its length and difficulty, addinga surprising variety to any disc golf course. Tees (Ts) are colorcoded, and each color is played a specific way. There are threecolors assigned Red, White, and Blue and the colors are normallyplayed in rotation from one hole to the next. There is no loss ofpoints for missed shots. A player either scores on a basket or getszero for that hole.
RED Ts (R) normally the shortest or easiestholes: All players on the card shoot to see whos Closest To thePin (CTP). One point is awarded to the player closest to thebasket without going out of bounds (OB). All other players scorezero.
WHITE Ts (W) medium length and/or somewhatdifficult holes: All players play for a birdie. Two points arescored by any player making a birdie (White Tbird), elsewisezero.
BLUE Ts (B) the toughest holes on thecourse: All players play for a birdie or par. Three points arescored for any players making a birdie (Blue Tbird), and one pointfor those making a par. Zero points for missing par.
R-W-B, 1-2-3 is any easy way to remember thecolor rotation, the max number of throws for each color and thescoring for each color hole. Red, 1 throw each, 1 point for CTP.White, 2 throws each, 2 points for a birdie. Blue, 3 throws each, 3points for a birdie, (1 point for a par).
Winner: The player with the most points winsthe round.
Tiebreaker: If two players tie, then play aRED T CTP for the win. If several players tie, start with a BLUE T,then a WHITE T, then a RED T. The player with the most points onall three baskets wins. If there is another tie, if time permits, and the course is empty, repeat. Otherwise, play a RED T CTP forthe win.
The maximum number of points that can be scored onany 3T Revolution round is 36. If an ACE (hole-in-one) is made, mark down the score for that colored T on the scorecard and star() that hole. Award the maximum pointsfor the hole to the scorecard. For example, an Ace from a Blue Tonly counts for three points. Players dont earn extra points forEagles or better.
Order of play (Teeing order) for the first hole isalso determined by flipping discs. For allremaining holes follow the customary order of play as defined bythe PDGA ( http://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf/801-general/80105-order-of-play ).
Below is an example of a scored round with threeplayers on the card. Starting T color was determined by flippinga red, a white, and a blue disc. The blue disc landed face up, andthe other two face down, so blue was the starting color for theround.
3T is not endorsed, sanctioned or in any wayassociated with the PDGA.

3T Rev sounds interesting, so whatdo I do?
There is a tremendous amount ofvariety in how 3T can be played. This can be a bit confusingat first, but the main point to focus on is this:
How many Ts does my course have?
In other words, does your course have a single T-boxfor each hole? Are there alternate Ts to throw from? How many?
Each disc golf course is unique. Some courses havenine holes, some have eighteen, and some have even more. Somecourses have alternate Ts for each hole two or even three foreach. The 3T scoring system can be adapted for each course youplay.
