All over the world , people wear

different kinds of clothes .

Their clothes are not the same

at night as in daytime .

At night , they wear loose clothes

for sleeping .

In daytime , people need clothes that

are right for what they are doing .

They need different clothes in all

kinds of weather .

When it rains , people need special

clothes to keep them dry .

In winter , when it is cold , people

wear warm clothes to go outside .

They need warm hats and socks ,

as well as boots and thick coats .

When there is snow , they need

jackets and gloves and scarves .

In summer , people need light clothes

that are loose and cool .

They wear big hats to keep the sun

off their faces .

Their feet stay cool in light shoes

or sandals .

People wear special clothes for sports .

For sports on snow and ice , players

need warm clothes .

People sailing in boats wear hats and

lifejackets .

Many sports make the players hot ,

so they wear cool clothes .

For some sports , the players need

helmets , pads or gloves .

Sometimes they need boots or caps .

Many people wear clothes that are

made to keep them safe as they work .

Firefighters wear special clothes when

they rescue people or fight fires .

Astronauts wear space suits with

helmets and boots when they fly

into space . Builders wear hard hats

and boots when they are working

on a building .

Uniforms are sets of the same

clothes worn by a group or team .

Sports teams wear matching

clothes , and some children wear

uniforms to school .
