Weighing in at 1,600 pounds (726 kilograms) and standing around feet (3 meters) tall is the polar bear. This frosty white bear comes from the Arctic . There, it is known as The Seal Shredder. Ringed and bearded seals become powerless prey against this top predator of the north.

Both fighters call themselves bears, but they are not built the same. The grizzly bear carries a huge hump of muscle between its shoulders. It has almost no neck between its body and head. The polar bear flaunts a raised rump. Its neck is long, and its head is narrow.

Both fighters boast large paws with sharp claws for hand-to-hand combat . The grizzly bear has the longer claws and much experience digging and ripping. The polar bear has the better grip. Its paws have rough pads and extra hair to prevent slipping. Its strong claws can work like ice picks.
