Writing an acknowledgement page is like preparing a wedding invitation list; you just have too many people to include.

This book took over a year to write and includes all the learnings from my decade long career in ABAP. First, I'd like to thank Ram Mohan and Raj Narayan for introducing me to this wonderful world of ABAP. A special thanks to my colleagues, who gave their perspective on the depth of discussion for each topic of this book, and my students, who helped me with their feedback to keep the discussions simple enough to comprehend.

I'd like to express my gratitude to Kelly Grace Weaver for giving me the opportunity to author this book for SAP PRESS and brainstorming with me to get the topics for this book finalized.

Special thanks to my editor, Sarah Frazier, for all her support, patience, and encouragement to see this project through. Her input, corrections, and attention to detail have helped me tremendously to expand the coverage of each topic.

Writing a book this big that expands over a thousand pages takes a toll on your personal life. I am grateful to my family for their blessings, especially my late father without whose teachings I wouldn't be what I am today.

I'd especially like to thank my dear wife, Dr. Reena Sinha, who ensured I stayed fit and healthy despite long hours and late nights spent to meet the deadlines. This book would not have been possible without her constant moral support and motivation. She literally took care of everything else while I focused on writing this book and forgave me (with little tantrums, of course!) each time I failed to keep my promises of spending our free time together.
