Foreword

With the customers going digital, businesses have a big need to scale up their technology platforms and to offer the right product at the right time, at the right place, at the right cost, and when the customer wants it. This is very different from how core technology is built in most companies today.

Hence, the modern age CTO/CIO has a challenge at hand, irrespective of the size or nature of the business, which is to modernize IT and rebalance resources invested in running the technology platforms and add new functionalities to the platform to grow the business. That is where DevOps, CI/CD, SRE come in handy to horizontally and vertically scale technology platforms in an agile manner, working closely with the business.

This book treats the concept of 'agile IT' in a simple yet detailed manner dealing with various topics in a comprehensive way. I see this book to be very useful for IT professionals in any role or at any level, especially since the lines between IT software development, IT support, and IT infrastructure have blurred quite a lot owing to SaaS and cloud-based tech architecture.

During his stint in Tesco, Bengaluru as the Head of Software Development, he gained a broad range of expertise in retail related to Loyalty Program, Data Warehousing, Forecasting, Market Place, and buyer and supplier applications and collaboration platforms. His stint at international locations such as Australia, Brazil, UK, and USA has helped him in gaining knowledge of how technology is used in various business contexts.
