About the author

Thomas Kurian Theakanath has over 20 years of experience in software development and IT production engineering and is currently focused on cloud engineering and DevOps. He has architected, developed, and rolled out automation tools and processes at multiple companies in Silicon Valley.

He graduated from Calicut University in India majoring in production engineering and he did his master's in industrial management at the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He has worked at big corporations such as Yahoo! and SAP Ariba and has helped multiple start-ups to get started with their DevOps practice. He led and mentored engineering teams to the successful completion of large DevOps and monitoring projects. He contributes regularly to tech blogs on the latest trends and best practices in his areas of expertise.

Originally from Kochi, India, Thomas now lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife and three children. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he spends his free time running and hiking the trails and hills of the Bay Area with his friends and family and volunteering for his favorite charities.
