HOW TO USE THIS TRAVEL ATLAS The maps in Travel Atlas Japan are organized into eleven chapters, each one covering a major region of the country.
Each of the 148 detailed maps in this atlas is presented in a logical, easy-to-follow manner, with emphasis given to covering the most frequently-visited areas. All cities, towns, villages, and tourist sites including nature reserves are indexed for quick reference. Each chapter begins with an overview map of the region covered. Blue boxes indicate the insets which follow on subsequent pages, allowing user to go directly to the desired pages. The contents page of this atlas shows a key map of Japan. This map has color-coded boxes indicating the respective regions covered by each chapter.
All maps, where possible, are arranged so that towns and cities are shown adjacent to a regional map of the area, allowing the user to locate nearby points of interest and find out how to travel from one area to another. The index at the end of the atlas lists all names of cities, towns and tourist sites that appear on the various maps. These listings give the page number and inset map where they are located to help users find the place quickly.
How to use this Index The index lists towns, cities and districts within cities on any of the maps in the atlas as well as points of interest, national parks, temples and other landmarks. Each entry in the index is followed by a page number and the name of the map in which that item appears. 1_21 Design Sight Museum Roppongi, Shibuya, Omotesando, Harajuku & Meiji Shrine 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art Kanazawa 26 Martyrs Memorial Museum Nagasaki 3D Uchu Kyoryu-kan Museum Nikko Area A Factory Aomori Abarth Car Museum Mt. 1_21 Design Sight Museum Roppongi, Shibuya, Omotesando, Harajuku & Meiji Shrine 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art Kanazawa 26 Martyrs Memorial Museum Nagasaki 3D Uchu Kyoryu-kan Museum Nikko Area A Factory Aomori Abarth Car Museum Mt.
