A primeira edio deste livro (de 2004) serviu para preencher uma lacuna: era o primeiro livro de lngua francesa focado exclusivamente no Debian. Naquele tempo, muitos outros livros foram escritos sobre o tema para os leitores de francs e ingls. Infelizmente quase nenhum deles foi atualizado, e ao longo do tempo a situao foi piorando at o momento em que tnhamos uns poucos bons livros sobre Debian. Ns esperamos que este livro, que iniciou uma nova vida com sua traduo para o ingls (e com vrias tradues do ingls para outras lnguas), preencha esta lacuna e ajude muitos usurios.
