Introduction
ANGELS ARE EVERYWHERE, AND THEY are watching over us. In The Best Angel Stories 2, you will meet them in cities and farms, on hills and mountaintops, on roads, bridges, and in train stations. There are guardian angels bringing comfort and protection and rescuing angels performing incredible feats. You'll encounter angels appearing as white-robed beings with wings, as a bright golden light, and as extraordinary helpers appearing as humans who disappear in an instant. There are animal angels unaware and angels giving inexplicable aid to humans, restoring tender hearts through a tiny feather, snowflake, or butterfly.
As editor-in-chief of Angels on Earth magazine, I have shared hundreds of angel stories with our readers over many years. I can attest from these amazing stories that there is nothing like the healing touch of an angel to profoundly deepen one's faith and trust in God. Shining through the more than eighty true angel stories in this book is one of my treasured Bible verses: Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10, NIV). Be still because God's angels are ever near. Be still because angels answer before you call. Be still because angels never sleep. They keep watch all day, all night.
In this collection are the best angel stories of the year from Angels on Earth magazine, as well as all-new angel tales that no one has yet read. There are wondrous surprises from other sources, plus Special Bonus! The Best Angel Stories of All Time, beloved Guideposts classics that have stood the test of time.
The mysterious and miraculous await you. A boy with a snakebite is carried home, but who helped him? Only his dog was with him. After a bad car accident, an injured woman finds herself in a field of sunlit buttercups with a comforting angel. But she was rescued in a cornfield on a rainy day. At Christmas, a grieving daughter sets up her Nativity of eleven figurines. But where did the twelfth one come from? Had her newly departed mother sent the angel to watch over her?
Again and again in these pages, you'll discover God's magnificent care: For... He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee (Luke 4:10, KJV). Now open the doors and let the ministering angels in. Their many blessings cannot be contained! And please share your own angel story with me.
