CONTENTS

S ince 2008 The Inbetweeners has taken us on a comedy journey about growing up and getting laid (sort of!). Throughout the years the lads have bunked off school to get drunk, worn a tramps shoes in a London club, torn up the town at caravan club and lived the life on the ultimate lads holiday in Malia! Weve heard new levels of stupidity from Neil and been introduced to all kinds of phrases new to the English language, such as bumder and OA-Peado! Now, with what surely has to be one last hurrah, the Inbetweeners have taken themselves to the travellers trail in Australia to take in a bit of culture and, of course, to find some clunge!

Its not only the characters who are flourishing; most of the actors and actresses have started to bloom with fantastic careers on the back of the success of The Inbetweeners. This book brings us up to date with what the actors and production team have been doing since the series. Theres info on the sitcom Chickens, which was written by Simon Bird and Joe Thomas along with their university mate Jonny Sweet; Cuckoo, the comedy starring the legend that is Mr Gilbert, aka Greg Davies; and Drifters, dubbed the female version of the show and starring girls from the movie. You can also find out which Inbetweeners star featured in hit movies alongside Hugh Jackman and Colin Firth in Les Misrables and The Kings Speech.

So where are we up to in the lives of our favourite pupils of Rudge Park Comprehensive School? We last saw Will, Simon, Jay and Neil landing back in the UK after what can only be described as a disaster of a lads holiday in Malia. The coming of age holiday that all teenage lads see as the holy grail came about through Simon getting dumped by Carli. However, it wasnt quite the sun, sea and sex fest the lads (especially Jay) had planned; the four got into all sorts of hilarious situations (who could forget the famous dancing scene in the club?) that left fans like us wanting more!

The Inbetweeners: Moving On reminisces over the good times and basks in all the funniest moments since the show started. It takes you through the best bits weve seen so far from the show and first movie and gives you the scoop on all of the gossip to get you ready for the eagerly anticipated second movie.

You can swot up on all of your Inbetweeners knowledge with a full list of every character and actor weve seen so far, loads of funny quotes and plenty of interesting facts. Whats more, check out what the main actors Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley and Blake Harrison are doing now: whos married with kids, who ended up in a river on a stag party and who is dating a soap actress.

As avid fans of The Inbetweeners themselves, and writers of The Inbetweeners AZ, Matthew Richardson and Mike Dodgson are the perfect people to take you through to the next stage of one of Britains funniest and most successful comedy shows.

Read this book from start to finish or dip in and out of it its up to you!

SERIES 1 WHERE IT ALL STARTED

When Polly Mckenzie can no longer afford the expensive fees for her son Wills private school, she decides its best to enrol him in a local comprehensive, Rudge Park. For middle-class Will, who has been used to the finer things in life, this is something of a culture shock. And to his surprise, the other kids dont take too well to his blazer, briefcase and MY NAME IS WILL STOP ME and say HELLO badge. His first day starts with a picture of him taking a dump in the school toilets getting posted on notice-boards around the building.

In the first episode, Simon is forced by sadistic Head of Sixth Form, Mr Gilbert, to take Will under his wing. Mates with filthy bullshitter Jay Cartwright, and not-so-sharp Neil Sutherland, the three certainly arent the coolest kids in school but even for them Will is a bit of a geek. Still, after a bit of persuasion and a lot of lingering, they finally accept that Will is part of their group and in the first series of the show we see them get into some hilarious situations.

Briefcase Mong Will starts his schooldays as he means to go on. By pissing off his fellow students, including Rudge Park bully Mark Donovan. At the ritual underage boozing session at the Black Horse/Bull, when Will doesnt get served for being a minor, he decides to have a rant at the barman, explaining that everyone in there is his age too. Funnily enough, this doesnt go down too well with the others and Will certs himself as the biggest pain in the arse at the school.

In the second episode Will does make a bit of an attempt to show the others that he isnt the geek they think he is by eventually agreeing to bunk off school with them for a day of girls, booze and more girls.

So, out to impress, Will raids Simons Dads wardrobe and, dressed like a Hassidic Jew, heads to the off-licence to stock up. The plan actually works to an extent and he manages to score some booze, although the others arent too impressed with his choices: party snacks, gin and whisky liqueur!?! Still, they decide to make the most of it and head to Neils house to get the party started.

Unfortunately for the boys, the day doesnt go quite as planned and, after realising there are no girls to party with because theyre all back at school, the lads get smashed playing drinking games, Will ends up hurling a load of abuse at Neils dad (Oh, youd like my lip, wouldnt you? Right round your bell-endyou BUMDER!) and Simon ends up spewing all over Carli DAmatos kid brother after making a fool out of himself by spray-painting his love for her on her parents front driveway.

Things start to look up for the boys in the next episode, when Simon, with a lot of help from a very forward female examiner, manages to pass his driving test. The world is now their oyster; they can go where they want, when they want, without the involvement of interfering parents. Festivals, holidays, road trips well, not quite. On Wills recommendation and with some persuasion from Neil (Sometimes on the rides their boobs pop out. You only get a split second of tit as theyre going at about seventy miles per hour still good though!), they decide to take a trip to Thorpe Park.

Hardly the most adventurous option they could have taken but still, its a trip out for the lads on the open road, where theyre not bound by the rules of teachers or parents.

This turns into one of the classic episodes in the show and often a favourite with its fans. After a very cautious drive in the shit mobile that involves getting caught up in a funeral procession, the gang make it to the park, where Neil ends up naked, Will ends up insulting a group of disabled kids and Simon ends up with one less door on his already shit car. The perfect day out then!

By now Will has managed to create a pretty bad reputation for himself through his uncool antics but, despite this, in the fourth episode of the first series, Will Gets a Girlfriend, the geek manages to score an invite to a houseparty. Its hardly the social event of the year but, after pissing off the entire Sixth Form in his first week, we reckon hes done well! After a bit of a slow start, to everyones surprise, cool-kid Charlotte Hinchcliffe turns up and even more of a surprise is that she takes a liking to Will (despite Jays attempts at wooing her with his Crazy Frog impression).

After a few intellectual ponderings in the kitchen, Will and Charlotte head upstairs for some heavy petting, with Will even avoiding a beating from Donovan (Charlottes ex, who catches the pair together). The new boys luck seems to have turned a corner and the teens arrange to meet up again. Will knows this could be the moment hes been waiting for; his chance to lose his virginity but worried about his complete lack of experience in comparison with Charlotte, who claims to have already had 11 lovers, Will decides to bend the truth a little when talking to her about his own sexual adventures. The Inbetweener tells the much more experienced sixth-former that he lost his virginity at just 13! It doesnt take long after they meet up again for Charlotte to realise, however, that he isnt as experienced as hes made out:
