The Medieval World Of Kathryn Le Veque A Readers guide to family groups, characters, and other information to connect the great and wide world of Kathryn Le Veque Medieval Romance Novels
Authors Note: It was just time to do this. In the beginning, when there were only twenty or thirty novels, it was a bit easier to explain the connections on a page on my website entitled Chronological Order. While that page is still valuable as a cursory explanation of what has become the very big Medieval world of Le Veque, it was time to start writing all of this down so readers can share a more in-depth explanation of who belongs where. Each House will be broken down by name, connected novels, and connected characters. Everything is in alphabetical order. Some Houses are much bigger than others.
Additionally, this book in of itself will be updated once a year with addendums to incorporate new books. Its a work in progress. Im not sure there will be any more Houses, however the last two I added, de Poyer and de Shera, will more than likely be the last and, eventually, this will be one giant family, all marrying into each other, but thats okay because theyre so spread out era-wise that it really wont matter. My earliest novel is set in 1139 A.D. and the latest one is set in 1515 A.D., so thats a 376 year-span that I meddle in. Think of it this way 376 years ago, it was 1639, so thats a lot of years to cover! There are thirty Houses contained within these pages.
This is only the male hero line; the female heroine line will not be covered because I dont think its necessary at this point. There are also many secondary houses from secondary characters and perhaps one day, I will go into even more detail with them, but at this point, its enough to deal with the major family groups. I have always said that you do NOT need to read my books in any order to understand what is going on. They are all stand alones. The only exception to that rule is the Dragonblade series, but even with that, you can still read the books in any order and it wont mess with your reading enjoyment. Each hero (and heroine) I write about can absolutely stand on their own feet.
With that, enjoy the detailed look into the Medieval World of Kathryn Le Veque. Hugs, Kathryn Rating Houses by Size (how many times they appear in Le Veque novels, how many secondary or primary characters they have within the scope of all novels, etc.): The Biggest Houses : De Lara De Lohr De Russe Big Houses: De Wolfe De Nerra De Reyne De Velt Du Bois St. Hever Wellesbourne Le Bec De Shera Medium Houses : Du Reims De Winter Forbes Hage Pembury De Royans De Moray De Poyer Smaller houses : Summerlin St. John Le Mon Garr DVant DAurilliac Connaught Da Derga De Bermingham De Llion De Bretagne Note: Some of the early novels will be stand-alones literally, having little or no cross over characters from any novels. Its the later novels that will have cross over characters or names that cross over from earlier novels. Thats not a foregone rule because over time, some of the earlier houses have been incorporated into later novels, but most of the earlier ones have no cross overs at all.
Early novels include:
- The Wolfe
- Rise of the Defender
- The Dark One: Dark Knight
- The Warrior Poet
- The Gorgon
- The Legend
- Great Protector
- The Darkland
- The Crusader/Kingdom Come
- Lespada
- Tender is the Knight
