The truth is that the place whereon you stand is holy ground as long as you are contemplating the presence and the power of God within you.

FOREWORD
Already on Holy Ground is a secret treasure that whispers, rather than shouts, its reminder that the Infinite is always with us, if we but notice. Like a seashell held up to the ear whose sound calls us to the ocean, J. K. Bailey's wisdom alerts us to our own capacity for enlightenment, transcendence, and love, for getting beyond egotism.
The delight is that he does so with such full-tilt honesty and compassion, gently debunking myths that attractand waylayspiritual seekers. Examining the myth of enlightenment itself, he writes, "In the depths of my being I'll know it has nothing to do with channelers of wisdom or genial guardian angels. I will grasp that awakening is really about what we ourselves experiencethrough grace." And addressing the myth that spectacular inner experiences are more spiritual than the glimpses afforded by ordinary moments, he notes, "But in waiting for the blinding light to find us, we ignored the tiny sparkle of a star in the night sky

that could bring joy to the heart and help us remember the Divine." Bailey sees through the myths that say spiritual people never get angry, that they avoid intense feelingsthat they must perpetually seek.
