PREFACE

W e should have known. I (Pia) had experienced unusual knowings all of my life. I saw little people and fairies. I had regular conversations with loved ones who had died. When I related what they said to other family members, they simply did not know what to do with my experience. I saw colors and lights around peoples bodies that helped me understand about them. (Not until I was an adult did I understand that I was seeing the energy body called an aura.) I often heard beautiful music when there was no obvious source for the music. I saw spheres of light dancing around me, leading me to where they wished me to go. I had inexplicable feelings of elation, love, and connection around each of these experiences. In short, I lived in a world filled with magic. As I discovered the normal world did not understand the magic that was part of my everyday existence, I became disenchanted with normal life but refused to give up on what I knew was real. I continued to allow the magic to fill my life with awe and wonder.

I (Cullen) reached into the body of a childhood playmate when I was four years old and removed some kind of toxic material (possibly a tumor). It was a spontaneous action that I just knew was right. Unfortunately the reaction from adults favorable. I could not understand how I could have possibly done anything wrong. It simply seemed necessary. For a long time after that experience, my healing abilities went underground, yet I continued under the cloak of disguise to continue to help others when I could. One of the ways I maintained contact with those who were guiding me was to listen to my intuition to start a garden. Having no idea how to plant or care for a garden, I managed to grow my own version of a Findhorn Garden when I was seven years old all by myself (predating the actual Findhorn Garden in Scotland by almost ten years.) My parents took the huge vegetables that I had grown with the help of the devic kingdom into the local market. People were astounded by how tender and succulent the vegetables were in spite of their enormous size. It was years before I understood what had happened to me as a child and knew that it is possible for humans to contact the devic kingdom of plants. At age ten, I had a first-hand experience of regeneration in my own body. One of my eyes had been so severely damaged that the current medical knowledge held no hope or technique for repairing it. Without medical intervention or explanation, my eye inexplicably and magically regenerated itself. I regained full and complete sight.

As children we experienced unusual contacts with dolphins. (Even as adults, we continue to share special connections and communications with dolphins and whales.) Beginning as children and continuing into adulthood, each of us noticed activity in the sky and the presence of something other than the stars and planets we learned about in school. These occurrences were, until now, completely mysterious. We had no idea we were actually being approached. These are just a few of the events that were part of our daily lives. There were many, many other extrinsic experiences that were inexplicable until we began to grow into the wisdom that helped us understand So collectively, we should have known when things started to get more and more unusual. We should have known when we started to hear footsteps in our house. Or when we saw waves of something or somebody moving in front of our eyes. Or when we heard what we now call bleed-through voices or sounds from other realms. Or when we placed things in one place, and they turned up in another. Or when the front doors of two of the houses we lived in together were locked without our locking them. Or when the water was turned on while we were out of the room (a message to get us to flow a little more in our understanding, rather than being fixed on our own ideas). Or when the heat suddenly switched to air-conditioning in the midst of a heated discussion. (A little help from our friends to cool down the interchange?) Or when my (Cullens) shoes were placed facing another direction as a clear message to look at how I was walking in my life. We should have known that more was going to be revealed to us.

INTRODUCTION

THE ARRIVAL AND THE BIRTHDAY GIFT

O ur lives were changed forever on a special birthday (Cullens). Something happened that was nothing less than extraordinary. We were celebrating with a simple meal. We kept a shortwave radio that was turned off in another room. Outside snow was falling, and we commented on the deepening beauty and quiet. Suddenly from the other room, we heard the radio switch itself on. We looked at each other and realized this had never happened before. One of us glanced at the clock and noticed it was exactly the time of my (Cullens) birth: 4:31pm. We got up from our meal and moved into the other room, wondering how it was possible for a radio to turn itself on. After checking all the plugs and switches, we decided to add it to our list of inexplicable mysterious events.
