Don is aVietnam Veteran. He recently spent several months in Vietnamworking on his war memoirs - The Boy Died in Vietnam. He haswritten several novels and short stories available as e-books. Histwo favorite topics are love and life after death.

Do you believein life after death - reincarnation? Existing after the body dieshelps explain a lot. Evolving through the human kingdom from onelife to the next would account for the greatdisparity among human units around the world. The truthis there isn't any such thing as death. There is only life in itsentire varied splendor. And that applies to all units of life onthe planet, from atoms within dense matter up through and includingthe plant and animal kingdoms. There aren't any groups of people orunits of life within any kingdom of nature, including the human, that have a monopoly on eternal life.

Yes, it is truethe physical form we inhabit will at some point become unable tosupport our life force and die. Then the indwelling life (our truebeing) is released, we dont cease to exist, except in this worldat that time. We live on. We continue to live upon more subtleplanes until the call comes for our soul (the real life) toincarnate again. Then we take up existence on this dense physicalplane once more, evolving into ever higher beings in eachsucceeding life; learning and growing from where we left off in ourlast life. It has been said that we are more dead now than weever will be! The subtler planes being composed of less densematter provides for a greater livingness for our constantlyevolving souls.

Death is one ofthe greatest illusions surrounding mankind. Fear of the unknown, lack of scientific proof, and the pain of involuntary change alladd their quota to that surrounding fog. But that is all it is,fog! When the veil is lifted all that remains is ever changing andever evolving life. There is nothing else! Always fresh beginningsand new starts, another chance to do better; to move forward intoever expanding rings of livingness. You will experience rebirthagain and again, striving for a greater measure of perfection eachtime. And there isn't any loss of identity or memory afterdeath. We retain everything, even though separation has occurredfrom the dense physical form.

As our attitudechanges toward the subject of death, as it most assuredly will, sowill the fear and uncertainty that surrounds it. Each night whenyou sleep you die to this plane. When you leave the physical formupon the 'death' of that form you simply leave this plane for alonger period of time. You are alive and active elsewhere.

Erroneousteaching about heaven and hell has hindered humanity down throughthe ages from learning the true nature of death. There isn't anyhell! Life on this plane is the only hell you will ever know, andit suffices to be an adequate one. Descent by the soulinto a dense physical form, with all its limitations, is true deathand hell to the spiritual nature of man. Dying from this denseworld is liberation and entrance into greater life. As theindividual progresses through one form after another his/herattitude will eventually change and the prospect of death will nolonger hold any fear. And then he/she can truly begin to live!

Appropriatequote:

"Haveperseverance as one who doth for evermore endure. Thy shadows liveand vanish; that which in thee shall live forever, that which inthee knows, for it is knowledge, is not of fleeting life; it is theman that was, that is, and will be, for whom the hour shall neverstrike."

AlphaMales

I am a nativeCalifornian, having only recently moved to London. I was born in1960 in the San Francisco Bay Area, have lived on the east coast(northern New Jersey), and now have crossed the pond to ply mywares in the old country. I am currently marketing a collection ofmy fictional short stories, while working on a 'memoIRISH novel'(does that phrase even exist?).

Open tosuggestions, critique etc.

There are threetypes of Alpha Males.

The obviousAlpha Male, a man who needs to fill the role of top dog. A manwho requires control and demands compliance. He is usuallyflamboyant in displaying his Alpha-ness and basically is anasshole. You can almost picture the hat on backwards and the jawpopping his gum every two seconds. His strength, for what it is,comes from numbers. Alone he is almost pathetic, rudderless.

The subtleAlpha Male has the same needs, the same desire for control andcommand, yet uses guile in order to fly below the radar whilekeeping his Homies on a string and under his influence. This guy isgreasy, untrustworthy, consistently dishonest and self absorbed. Abad guy. Employing stealth as if he were a spider, strictly toserve his own needs.

Then there isthe reluctant Alpha Male. This man has all the skills and influencethat lures less confident men to follow his lead, but he notonly doesnt need the sycophantic adulation of other men, hedoesnt pursue it or want it. He seeks no entourage, eschewssycophants and embraces total autonomy.

And because ofthat independence he radiates confidence. And that is the elixirthat other men are drawn to. Women as well. Confidence is a trueaphrodisiac. There are many pretenders, but confidence is verydifficult to fake. False bravado tends to be loud, brash andtransparent to the educated eye and ear. Genuine confidence is aquiet song, a night light to the wayward moth.

The moreobvious Alpha Male comes from a mindset of insecurity. And the menwho respond to that type of Alpha Dawg will have the samefoundation; insecurity. Its usually an unseemly display and mostwomen who possess any level of sophistication will avoid that groupat all costs. We've all seen these clowns. One smug guy determiningthe dynamics and direction for a group of Pavlovian dogs. It ishegemony on a frat boy level.

Perhaps evenmore sinister, however, is the subtle Alpha Dawg. He is clearly thesmartest one in the bunch, by his own choosing, yet manipulateseach guy so that he has their loyalty. He can create infightingamongst the troops if he feels there is possible insurgency ahead. He divides the forces so they cannot ever unite against hisstealthy rule. This man will be attractive to women, but only for ashort time. Any woman of substance with decent radar for BS willsee this guy for what he is and bail at the first opportunity. Ofcourse, some women will succumb to his supposed charms and willprobably live to regret it.
