Timeline of Events
e battle of Arracourt was nearly ve years in the making. Aer
hostilities began in the fall of 1939, Nazi Germany occupied France and
the Low Countries within a matter of months. America entered the war
in December 1941 following the attack on Pearl Harbor, but American
forces did not arrive in Europe until 1943 with the invasion of Italy. As
Allied forces closed in on the borders of the Reich, Hitler put the best of
his remaining panzer forces along the Franco-German border, ready to
stop the incoming Allied armor at any cost.
