A Look at Cruising
O ceans cover 71% of the earths surface. They were, until very recently, the barrier that walled off cultures from one another. To trade, to meet, to emigrate meant undertaking often risky sea voyages. Nobody went to sea just for the fun of it.
That all changed in the 1970s when ocean liner executives, stuck with massive empty ships as passengers switched to air travel for ocean crossings, very creatively created an industry of shipboard vacations. That brash young business is the subject of this guide.
