In Support of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep
A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS), an organization that provides free remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby. NILMDTS trains, educates, and mobilizes professional photographers to provide beautiful heirloom portraits to families facing the untimely death of an infant. We believe these images serve as an important step in the familys healing process by honoring the childs legacy.

Anyone can take a picture, but it takes an artist to envision and capture the perfect moment.
I remember the very first time I experienced a darkroom. The pungent smell of the chemicals made me lightheaded. The anticipation as my photo started to appear under the red lights was so thrilling! I was giddy to see something I had envisioned and created come to life. It was immediateI was in love.
Its difficult to pinpoint the exact moment when my photography hobby became a business; I guess it was when I started getting paid. It seemed surreal that someone was paying me to do what I loved! The leap from passion to profit can be a big one, especially if we dont have a business background. That is why its so important to have a plan. Lets face it, no one really wants to be a starving artist.
