After riding his bicycle down to the local airport at age 12, Terry started to work part-time washing dishes to pay for flight lessons. He missed his first day of drivers education in order to solo an airplane on his 16th birthday and received his private pilots license by the time he was 17.
Terry enlisted in the Army, went to college, and graduated from the U.S. Armys Rotary Wing flight training program in 1985. He has flown on active duty, with the National Guard, and with the Army Reserves as an assault, medivac, and attack pilot in addition to serving as an aviation commander. Today, Terry is an Army Senior Aviator qualified in the AH-64 Apache helicopter and holds a civilian flight instructor license for both airplanes and helicopters. During the summer months, he spends his time exploring the lakes of the northern Ontario wilderness in his 108-3 Stinson floatplane.
