Holiday Sweets and Desserts
Yes, you can make desserts in a slow cooker! And here are three good reasons to do it:
- When your oven is crammed full, you can call your slow cooker into action and make dessert in it.
- When the house is steamy warm from all the guests and the roaring oven, a slow cooker can make dessert quietly and without upping the temperature in the house.
- Making dessert in a slow cooker is useful and efficient, but its also part entertainment. Curious guests wont believe it.
Some desserts can go straight into the slow cooker.
For others youll need a baking insert. Bread pans fit well into oval slow cookers. Many casserole dishes and cake pans fit into larger round slow cookers. Metal jar rings or trivets will keep your baking dish elevated off the bottom of the cooker. Your slow cooker is your entertaining friend. Let it lift your holiday spirits! Phyllis Pellman Good
