MIRANDA MACPHERSON, AUTHOR OF THE WAY OF GRACE
What a superb book for any woman newly diagnosed with breast cancer and what a perfect title, Stronger Than Before. Alison has done a brilliant job of covering all the ways of tackling breast cancer positively, following in the great footsteps of pioneer Penny Brohn. Penny proved her own theory that cancer is negotiable, living for 21 years with secondary breast cancer, telling us that the key to survival was to find the opportunity in the crisis. Well done, Alison, for shining this bright light for those who will follow you on their self-healing journey.
DR ROSY DANIEL BSC MBBCH, INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE CONSULTANT
Beautifully written, deeply moving. A go-to book to reach for first if you find yourself with your world turned upside down after a diagnosis of breast cancer. Alison walks step-by-step with you all the way, signposting your treatment options clearly, and unusually, and in my opinion, vitally, also flags the scientific statistics that may not serve you. Essential reading.
SARA DAVENPORT, FOUNDER OF BREAST CANCER HAVEN AND AUTHOR OF REBOOT YOUR HEALTH
Can a book about cancer, healing and change be beautiful? I think so. There is so much practical information and wisdom in these thought-filled pages, intertwined with Alisons vulnerability and courage to rise. Her journey toward being her own positive influence is truly inspiring. You will be moved and soothed by this book.
ROBBI ZECK ND, AUTHOR OF THE BLOSSOMING HEART
Alison Porters book, Stronger Than Before, is the book I wish Id found when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ER/PR+ breast cancer. Alison and I share a very similar view about cancer: its not something trying to kill you - its something communicating that your life is out of balance. Alison shares her own story as well as her thorough research and suggestions to help you make sense of your diagnosis, or that of a loved one, so you can find the eye of calm in the middle of the storm. To eradicate cancer, we must take our lives into our own hands and take responsibility for our own healing. While I wish no one was ever again diagnosed with breast cancer, I plan to give them a copy of this book as it is a resource I desperately could have used during my journey to healing.
BAETH DAVIS, THE PALM PILOT FOR THE SOUL OF YOUR BUSINESS, BAETH.COM
Knowing women whove been through this, I know it takes a great deal of courage to look into the eye of cancer and choose an alternative method to overcome it. This book will lead you with integrity through a range of approaches so that you can decide how to heal, stay well and ultimately become stronger than before. Alison Porter is a brave warrior woman, and her life is a living testament of what is possible.

When you come out of the storm you
wont be the same person who walked in.
Thats what this storms all about.
HARUKI MURAKAMI, KAFKA ON THE SHORE
Breast cancer isnt for sissies.
To survive this storm youre going to have to dive deep to discover every trace of feminine feistiness you can muster. And if youre up for the challenge, youll do it your own way. Your life is at stake not just the one you had before cancer swept in like a hurricane, but the one youll go on to have when the storm has passed.
The book youre holding in your hands is the one I went looking for when I first heard those two devastating words breast cancer. I wanted a pathway, something to guide me through this frightening new world of hospital appointments and fast-paced choices. I read everything I could lay my hands on from the most technical medical texts to the latest in natural anti-cancer diets but nothing could give me the bigger picture and help me find my way through the process of treatment and all the painful emotions that came with it.
What I didnt know then was that while every womans diagnosis and experience of the disease is unique, it is possible to lay out a roadmap that anyone can follow to support them through the process and make the choices that are right for them.
You probably didnt know that there are different types of breast cancer. I didnt. It all seemed like one amorphous disease to me, so I was surprised to discover that there are several different types. And its a disease that affects one in every eight women. Think of your close circle of friends. If its not you, then the chances are that youll be supporting at least one of them through it. And those numbers are rising. While more of us are surviving the disease, more of us are contracting it. We dont just need help in surviving breast cancer, we need help in preventing it too.
