M inimalist Baker is a blog and online community devoted to simple cooking. Born out of a passion for easy-to-make, delicious food, all recipes either require 10 ingredients or less, 1 bowl or 1 pot, or 30 minutes or less to prepare. HOW DID IT START? I have loved food with all of my being since childhood, so it was only a matter of time before I discovered a way to make a career out of eating. I began reading food blogs in college but always struggled to find recipes that didnt require an excess of time, money, and energy to prepare. So I decided to make the blog I wanted to read and cook from.

With my appetite for simple food and my husband Johns business sense and knack for website design, we combined our skills to create Minimalist Baker in June 2012. An idea that started over a simple conversation at dinner has since morphed into a full-blown creative passion and thriving business. On a daily basis, I handle the cooking, writing, and photography, while John manages the branding, growth strategy, and technical side of the blog. Together, we make a pretty good pair and have a lot of fun. WHY PLANT-BASED? Despite being raised in Midwestern, meat-eating homes, both John and I found ourselves dabbling in veganism and vegetarianism throughout college, primarily for health reasons.

I FIND IT VERY REWARDING TO CREATE RECIPES THAT TASTE JUST AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL, WHILE STILL REMAINING PLANT-BASED. Because of my sensitivity to dairy, I have been experimenting with dairy-free and egg-free baking for many years. I find it very rewarding to create recipes that taste just as good as the original, while still remaining plant-based. Throughout this process, vegan and gluten-free cooking have become my passion. WHAT TO EXPECT For quite some time our readers have requested a print cookbook they could hold in their hands and cook from every day, something that didnt require a screen, and could sit in the kitchen, ready to be used. This cookbook is our response to that request, and we are so excited to present to you this collection of 101 entirely plant-based, mostly gluten-free, easy and delicious recipes.

The everyday in the title implies practicality, as the recipes in this book are designed for everyday use.
