About the Authors

Ankita Patil is a DevOps evangelist. She is passionate learner and practitioner of Agile, DevOps, and Cloud Computing. As a change agent, she tries to bring change in an organization to get the maximum benefits of DevOps and Cloud Technologies. So, she wants to share her knowledge and ensure that IT professionals are trained and empowered to make those changes.

Ankita has worked on multiple projects and tools for automating the entire software development lifecycle. Her approach has always been to develop a solution using different DevOps tools that would make the Development to Deployment cycle shorter and deliver software to market as quickly as possible. She has knowledge of the development of Java web applications and also has a lot of experience in Hybrid mobile app development. Her tools/technologies stacks include Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bitbucket, Rundeck, AWS Developer tools, and Terraform.

Ankita is a great lover of art and craft. She likes to paint and sketch while listening to silent retro Bollywood music when shes not working. She likes to watch movies and series to unwind and is a nature lover who likes to visit beaches, lakes, and mountains, exploring new places. Ankita has authored one more book with BPB, titled Hands-On Pipeline as Code With Jenkins.

Mitesh Soni is a DevOps engineer and in love with the DevOps culture and concept. Continuous improvement is his motto in life with existing imperfection. Mitesh has worked on multiple DevOps practices implementation initiatives. His primary focus is the improvement of the existing culture of an organization or a project using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. He believes that attitude and dedication are the biggest virtues that can improve professional as well as personal life. He is experienced in DevOps consulting and enjoys talking about DevOps and CULTURE transformation using the existing practices and about improving them with open-source or commercial tools.

Mitesh always believes that DevOps is a cultural transformation facilitated by people, processes, and tools. DevOps transformation is a tools agnostic approach. He loves to impart training and share knowledge with the community, and his main objective is to get enough information related to the project in such a way that it helps create an end-to-end automation pipeline.

His favorite tools/services for DevOps practices implementation are Azure DevOps and Jenkins in the commercial and open-source categories, respectively.

In his leisure time, he likes to walk in the garden, click photographs, and cycle. He prefers spending time in peaceful places.

After graduating from Plymouth University with a degree in Computer Systems and Networks degree in 2006, he worked as a solutions engineer and PHP/C# developer for WiredRed, a video conferencing startup. He then joined Taylor Made Computer Solutions Ltd. as a support desk analyst, working with VMWare, Citrix, Windows OSes, and underlying networking. At Akamai, Matt now specializes in enabling the retail, travel, and hospitality industries to deliver engaging, reliable, and secure digital experiences via a global edge compute platform. He is also part of the developer champion team that guides customers on how best to automate Akamai solutions in their workflows via APIs, CLIs, and infrastructure as code. When Matts not playing with tech, he loves adventure and has been known to drive three-wheelers around distant countries. He lives in the UK with his partner in adventure, Helen, and their two Russian blue cats.
