Why Youll Love This Book
From the time I was very young I remember sitting at countless kitchen tables - photo 7
From the time I was very young, I remember sitting at countless kitchen tables where the food was being preparedmeasuring, mixing, smelling and always tasting the recipe along the way. The cooks in charge were my grandparents, parents and friends, each with different ideas of what to make and how to make food taste good. After a while I noticed that even if we started with the same list of ingredients, what we made in one kitchen could be completely different in another. And everyone shared their secrets.

A pinch of something with my fingers was totally different from my fathers pinch or my grandmothers and is now completely different when my children and their friends are my helpers. That is the beauty of food and cooking with othersit varies depending on who participates. There was one thing that existed in every kitchen, though, and that was the joy that comes from working together to cook food with and for people you love. Whether it is baked or sauted, boiled or broiled, every dish celebrates that joy, and that is exactly what this book is all about: sharing with young chefs the pure pleasure of cooking. Cooking is an adventure (make sure to taste everything along the way!). Every kitchen experience, no matter the outcome, is filled with invention, learning and sometimes even intrigue (How did that cake rise so high?).

Your results will turn into your own kitchen memories and perhaps form the stories that you will share through generations. Trust the recipes here to be an excellent guide and just remember that your pinch decides the final and special outcome. Enjoy!
