Chapter 2: The Spanish Alphabet

T he good thing about the Spanish language is that the characters of the alphabet are very similar to English. That means native English speakers wont need to learn any new symbols. That means you need less time to learn how to speak Spanish. Now, here are the letters of the Spanish alphabet:

This alphabet somewhat looks like the usual English alphabet that you learned in school, right? There are only a few minor additions. You wont think that ch should be a letter but it is considered as such in Spanish. The other additional characters include ll, , and rr. The order of the letters also looks very much like the order you learned the English alphabet as well, which makes it really easy to memorize.

Pronouncing the Spanish Letters

Becoming familiar with the letters used in Spanish isnt the first big challenge. Its learning how to pronounce them that will prove to be a bit difficult. It should be obvious that even though two languages use the same letters or characters, it doesnt mean that the letters are pronounced in exactly the same way.
