An inspiring look at young climate change activists who are changing the world
The world is facing a climate crisis like weve never seen before. And kids around the world are stepping up to raise awareness and try to save the planet. As people saw in the youth climate strike in September 2019, kids will not stay silent about this subject-theyre going to make a change. Meet 12 young activists from around the world who are speaking out and taking action against climate change. Learn about the work they do and the challenges they face, and discover how the future of our planet starts with each and every one of us.
Loll Kirby is a primary school teacher and forest school leader, based in Leamington Spa. Inspired by the children she teaches, she wrote this book for anyone who wants to make a difference.

Calling all activists!
Hi, Im Kallan.
At nine, I started to worry about climate change and
the future, but I didnt know what I could do. Marching
in the first Peoples Climate March changed my life. I was
surrounded by art and funny signs. People were dancing,
playing instruments, singing, and chanting. I realized
that I already had skills that could help change the world.
Anything I could do would contribute.
Through Parachutes for the Planet with the Mother Earth
Project, I have worked with thousands of kids all around
the world who use art with their friends and families to
explore and share concerns about the future. Now, I am
helping to build the global climate strike community with
FridaysforFuture. Greta Thunberg says, You are never
too small to make a difference. I say, Everyone is a
changemaker. Your work starts with those around you. I
cant wait to see how you change the world for the better.

Felix from Germany was concerned about the vast numbers of trees being cut - photo 9
Felix, from Germany, was concerned about the vast numbers of trees being cut down
all over the world.
When he was nine years old, he launched Plant-for-the-Planet to get schoolchildren
all around the world to join together and plant new trees in their own countries. His idea was so successful
that a few years later, more than one million trees had been planted in nearly one hundred countries.
Im big enough to save our trees...
