General Trends

For the pastfew years, you may have felt as if the world is against you. Fearnot! It isn't, not at all.

What ishappening is that your own unconscious mind is generatingsituations that you must deal with. These can be very difficult.You may confront hostility, upsets, and obstacles of all kinds.They represent hidden forces within your own mind: memories,doubts, fears, and inner conflicts.

It is best toacknowledge such things honestly. The more aware you are of theseinner drives, the less control they have over you. Simply bybecoming conscious of them, you gain the power to choose freely howto live your life.

The reason whyyour unconscious issues have flared up in this way is that Uranusis moving through Aries, your solar twelfth house of inner needsand the unconscious. Uranus is the planet of change, and itspurpose is to breathe energy into our lives. Sometimes this meansshattering our routines and demolishing the careful structures wehave built around ourselves. Stability is a good thing, butrigidity can become a prison. No one want to be stuck in the samerut forever. Uranus brings freedom and the chance for a freshstart.

The process canbe tough. You may well feel a little bruised by now. Happily, yourordeal is almost over. Uranus leaves your twelfth house in mid-Maythis year, to enter your own sun sign and solar first house ofself. This will give you a tremendous boost in making necessarychanges to all areas of your life during the next seven years.

Don't rush intoany major changes of direction right away. The twelfth house isknown as the house of secrets, so a lot of things may come to lightas Uranus changes sign. Expect all sorts of revelations, includingsome ugly truths about people you thought you could trust. Acceptthem as calmly as you can. It is better to know than to bedeceived.

Uranus willretrograde back into Aries in November, and stay for a few monthsbefore moving forward into Taurus in spring 2019. You have plentyof time to consider your options. Don't make any final decisionsuntil well into next year.

Since Uranusrules your solar tenth house of career, you may experience itseffects in your professional life. Perhaps you feel stuck, or yousuddenly realise you are in completely the wrong line of work. Thisis good to know, but hold off on taking any action. You are due fora lot of upheaval in your career house this year, so wait and seewhat happens before deciding what to do.

First, we havethe Leo-Aquarius series of eclipses, which began last year andcontinues throughout 2018. This affects your solar fourth house ofhome and family as well as your tenth house of career, and maychange the balance between these areas of your life.

Each eclipseseries is united by a common theme. By now you may have guessedwhat overall change this series is bringing to your life. Theprocess will end early next year, with a final eclipse in Leo, yoursolar house of home and family. Then you are done with upheaval inthese areas. There will not be any more eclipses along this axisfor the next seven years.

The main thingto remember about eclipses is that it is their job to open up newpaths in our lives. That sometimes means closing off the path we'reon. Once the eclipse has spoken, nothing can go back to the way itwas. The world has changed. It is pointless to resist.

It is alwaysbest not to start anything under an eclipse. Just listen carefullyto its message, and consider what it means. Don't be in a hurry totake action. You can't see far enough ahead to make any plans ordecisions. Circumstances could change in the blink of an eye. Letevents unfold as they will.

You may receivethe message of the eclipse exactly one month before or after theactual date of the eclipse itself. Watch out for significant eventsat these times.

Adding to yourwoes, Mars will be retrograde in your career house during thesummer. This can mean frustration, depression, and pent-up anger.Mars is aggressive, and resents being held back.

Because Marsrules your house of inner needs and the unconscious, you will findthe effect more powerful than any other sign. Take care not to letyour feelings run away with you. Taurus people are seldom roused,but their rage can be explosive - precisely because their innerworld is ruled by Mars. Strive to understand the problems you face,and accept that simply becoming aware of the issues is part offinding a solution.

Since twoeclipses will fall at the same time, on this same Leo-Aquariusaxis, the atmosphere could get extremely fraught. More than ever,it is crucial that you take no action unless absolutely necessary.Give yourself a chance to reflect on your goals and assess how bestto reach them. Don't plan to initiate anything at all during thesedifficult months.

Be especiallycareful regarding safety at this time. Avoid conflict, and don'ttake unnecessary risks.

After this,Venus turns retrograde during autumn, in Scorpio, your solar houseof relationships. At the same time, erratic Uranus retrogrades intoAries on the opposite side of the zodiac wheel. This spellsupheaval. Old problems and issues from the past are likely to flareup. Try to be patient.

You may feelheld back by existing commitments. Arguments and frustration cantake a toll on your health. If you have any chronic conditions,they may get worse. Do your best to manage the stress. Protect yourhealth, and take some time out for yourself if you need it.

Because Venusis your personal ruler, you will feel this retrograde more stronglythan almost any other sign. Progress will be extremely slow. Don'tfight this - you can't win. Use the time to deal with long-standingissues once and for all. You will feel so much better in a fewmonths.

This will be ayear of change for you. Many things come to an end, but new thingsare also beginning. It is best to roll with the punches and trustthat you will find your feet again. Remember that it is natural forthings to end. Old and outworn parts of our lives must be clearedaway, so that fresh and exciting ones can flourish.

A new eclipseseries on the Cancer-Capricorn axis starts in the summer of thisyear. The first eclipse is in Cancer, your house of day-to-daymatters, and will shake up your ordinary environment. Othereclipses will follow in 2019, affecting both this house and yourhouse of travel and learning. A new direction in life, freshstarts, and broader horizons are all on the cards. You may retrain,relocate, or find some other way to explore the fantasticopportunities this world has to offer.

The processwill take two years, ending in 2020, so don't make any firm plansjust yet. Just be open to new possibilities, and see what appearsin your path.

Saturn iscurrently moving through your travel house, so don't expect thingsto go smoothly. Saturn's job is to test each area of our lives forweaknesses and flaws. You may find that all sorts of issues crop upin the areas of travel and learning. This is a good thing! You canonly fix problems if you know about them. Work methodically towardsyour goals, and you will astonish yourself with what you canachieve.
