Why Make Your Own Natural Non-Toxic Cleaners?

There was a time effective cleaning was defined by how the air smelled; the home was not really clean unless you could smell the chemicals. That was the thinking back in the days but thankfully, not anymore.

Many of the cleaners available in the market contain poisons and toxins. They do clean well but they leave dangerous ingredients behind that pollute your home.

With just a few household ingredients, you can effectively clean your home and surroundings and be green at the same time. • Citrus Oils: Combine 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup borax, 1 cup white vinegar and 20 drops of orange or lemon oil together. Add this mix to your laundry detergent bottle and use as normal.
    • Peppermint Laundry Soap: For a clean and fresh smelling laundry without the use of chemically scented detergents, try peppermint soap like Dr. Bronners peppermint soap.
    • Reusable Dryer Bags: Give lavender-scented reusable dryer bags a try. Three to four dryer bags are easy to toss in to give nice smelling clothes.
    • Vanilla Scented Wool Dryer Balls: Add a small amount of vanilla essential oil to wood dryer balls before every other cycle to kick up fresh scent.
